Autumn or Elisa for baby girl?

Giraffe888 · 26/07/2021 21:11

What do people think to Autumn Rose for a baby girl?

I love the name but DH isn’t 100%. He likes it but something is holding him back!

Or Elisa Rose?

I think I prefer Autumn

Autumn is really unique and lovely.

Buttercup54321 · 29/07/2021 23:05

Eden Rose?

itsgettingwierd · 28/07/2021 17:30

Autumn is a lovely name but only for children born in autumn (ImO!).

If summer born Summer Rose is lovely!

Elisa is nice but I prefer Elise.

FayeFayeFayeFayeFaye · 28/07/2021 17:19

I like Elisa. Also I like the idea of two middle names because Rose is honestly one of the default middle names for all girls at the minute.

Also love Elise.

Giraffe888 · 28/07/2021 08:36

Two middle names could be a nice idea.

Even though rose will be her middle name it won’t really be used, I wouldn’t introduce her to people as Autumn Rose, just as Autumn

Prefer Autumn, it was my choice if DS had been a girl so I genuinely love it. But agree with PPs that it sounds twee paired with Rose. Also agree adding another name between the 2 would work. Autumn Elisa Rose is beautiful.

Cookiebox · 28/07/2021 08:19

I love autumn, one of my fav girls names but not with rose as a middle name, that makes it naff like above post has said.
I don't think two nouns as names work.

Chilldonaldchill · 28/07/2021 07:20

I don't mind Autumn (and I also wouldn't use it for a child born in Autumn as agree is cheesy) but I think Autumn Rose simply doesn't work. It's too descriptive.
Elisa Rose is fine. I think most people would pronounce it properly.

FartnissEverbeans · 27/07/2021 21:36

Autumn. I actually think Autumn Rose is lovely.

Elisa is a bit boring as it blends in with all the Ellies/Elsas/Elsies etc. It’s fine though

17caterpillars1mouse · 27/07/2021 21:11

I like Autumn but with Rose it makes it a bit naff / cheesy.

Elisa isn't my style

DPotter · 27/07/2021 20:42

Oh please don't call your DD Autumn. She'll spend her life explaining why her mother called her Autumn when she was born in February. Knew a girl called Summer, born in April.

Elisa Rose is a lovely name

Elisa
Autumn Rose sounds like a brand. Or character in a trashy novel. (sorry!)

Sonata13 · 27/07/2021 13:00

My beautiful Italian niece is Elisa. I also love Autumn. So I guess I am no help whatsoever!

YoungGun95 · 27/07/2021 12:57

Or use two middle names

Example
Autumn Harriet Rose surname

YoungGun95 · 27/07/2021 12:54

Love Autumn but not Rose, it sounds like you are describing a flower that only blooms in the autumn. Choose a middle name that is not also an object

For example

Autumn Jane
Autumn Francesca
Autumn Josephine
Autumn Harriet

Maskedrevenger · 27/07/2021 12:48

Autumn Rose sounds to me like a room fragrance or a scented fancy candle. Either Autumn or Rose with other names fine, just not any flower names.

NotMeekNotObedient · 27/07/2021 12:44

Elisa Rose is lovely.

Fierceblueberrypud · 27/07/2021 11:57

Both are beautiful names. Personally prefer Elisa

Giraffe888 · 27/07/2021 06:13

Middle name rose is because it’s a family name from my very dear auntie who passed away young

Baby wouldn’t be born in autumn, I wouldn’t actually use it if she was born in Autumn as I’d find it a bit cheesy!

I like Elise but my DH doesn’t, it reminds him of the car!

I only like autumn if they are born in the autumn otherwise no

goddessofmischief · 26/07/2021 23:09

Autumn Rose is beautiful

WaltzingToWalsingham · 26/07/2021 23:02

I really like the name Elisa. To me, it's a young, dynamic name, whereas Autumn is a bit...autumnal, the dying of the year.

One thing to be aware of is that Elisa is the name of a type of antibody test, but usually only medics will know about it, and it's not a bad association anyway, more of an interesting one.

TatianaBis · 26/07/2021 22:51

Really like Elissa, Autumn - meh.

Kanaloa · 26/07/2021 22:35

I like Elisa, I would pronounce it Eh-Lisa. Autumn is ok but I don’t like Autumn Rose, it doesn’t work nicely for me.
