I've checked previous threads and they're quite a few years old. What are current thoughts on this name? We keep returning to it but wonder whether we should just put it to rest?

We already have a Hugo.

Very popular as a middle name here because of Jesuits. How about Xavier as in St Francis Xavier .Goes with Hugo .?

I clicked before realising this was on baby names, and thought it was to do with an illness or disease I hadn't yet heard of.

There's a character in "New Amsterdam" called Ignatius/news Iggy. He's old.

I think it's a bit much.

I think you could get away with it if your surname was Rees Mogg, but in that case your poor child(ren) would probably be in line for a lifetime of shame so a weird first name would be neither here nor there.

Very brave and upper class sounding imo (more so than Hugo which is more popular now) but I do like the sound of it. He will get Iggy though which I'm less sure I like.

Similar Inigo somehow feels a bit more useable to me - although that might be a bit samey with Hugo. I don't know if you want other suggestions but perhaps Magnus or Rufus? They sound good with Hugo to me.

I quite like it. I'm less keen on Iggy, which I think would be somewhat inevitable. Sibling names don't really matter, but with Hugo being so popular it does contrast a little. If I were Hugo I think I'd be a bit jealous that my brother got the fun name!

Awful I'm afraid. Hugo and Ignatius sound very pretentious together IMO - how long before they're on MIC?? Love Nate for short if you did go for it though.

Iggy is ok if your surname is Pop.
What I think doesn't matter though, if you like it.
