Shortening of Lorelei?

Expecting DD1 in October. We really like the name Lorelei. I'm aware of the meaning/history and actually have German heritage. Never watched the Gilmore girls but aware there's a character in that, but not put off....

However, we don't like the nickname Lorry. Will it be inevitable that this name is shortened to Lorry? I know nicknames and shortenings can come about organically but does anyone have any suggestions of potential shortenings in place of Lorry? We would use the full name mostly as we find it really beautiful!
I know the Gilmore girl is called Rory but not keen on that
Thank you

In the Gilmore girls they shorten it to Rory. If that helps?!

Ooh it’s on my list for DC3 but I actually love the shortening to Lori (like Lori Petty) so that’s not v helpful! Something like Lola, Lou or Leila maybe? Or err Lozza (please don’t).

How much do you dislike Lorry? My name has lots of different options (like Katie, Kitty, Kath etc but not) and I use a different one to my DPs - don’t think they hate it though! Lorry/Lori is probably pretty inevitable…

How would you pronounce it? Lorully or Lurulleye?

And yes, people will shorten it to Lorry.

I would spell the shortened version you mentioned - Lori.

How about Lola? Lolly?
