The name Swan for a baby girl AIBU

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
omgthepain · 28/06/2021 21:52

Why don't people give their children proper names instead of naming them after birds, animals, fruit, (apple!!) Or names of things like river, beach, dune

Answer - because they haven't got any common sense and don't care about the effect it may have on their children in their later professional life

That is why

@userchanger have a word with yourself

Swan 🦢 for gods sake

@TheRebelle

Who are all these children called Wren? I’ve never, ever heard it used as a name, is it for boys or girls or both (or in my opinion neither)?
I’ve never met any either, but it often gets suggested on here for girls.
RoseMartha · 28/06/2021 21:48

No.
Not a fan of Wren either.

Me neither.
GreyhoundG1rl · 28/06/2021 21:44

@Snog

Lots of kids have animal names - Ant, Cat, Fox, Bear, Badger etc and even more have bird names - Wren, Robin etc
No, they really don't.

Oh god no it's awful
Are her siblings going to be seagull and duck 🦆

Hen2018 · 28/06/2021 21:37

Lots of kids are called Badger?

No, they’re not.

Unless they have a brother called Bodger.

@Hen2018

And don’t go for Wren either. Ridiculous. You might as well use Thrush.
😂
openallflowers · 28/06/2021 21:23

Brilliant 😂

3totheright4totheleft · 28/06/2021 21:21

I quite like it.....

ufucoffee · 28/06/2021 21:21

Swan make kettles etc. That's what I thought of.

Hen2018 · 28/06/2021 21:20

Mischance · 28/06/2021 21:19

Give this poor child a break.

BeckyWithTheGoodHair5629456 · 28/06/2021 21:17

Hahahahahahaaaaaaa! No don't do that, it's not a name for a person.

Hen2018 · 28/06/2021 21:14

Swannee whistle?
Swan Vesta matches?
Can she be eaten only by the queen?
Would she be able to break your arm with her wing?

Don’t be silly, OP.

HalzTangz · 28/06/2021 21:10

I'm sorry but I can see years of bullying for your child if you give them the name swan

Kitkat151 · 28/06/2021 21:08

It’s horrible

WhatIsThisPlease · 28/06/2021 20:57

I love it. But then my children are called Lion and Zebra.

SmallPrawnEnergy · 28/06/2021 20:55

Because it’s not a name and your child will get the piss taken out of them forever so why would you do that?
You can not like a name, fair enough but I am so tired of this tripe being trotted out. Kids don’t pick on other kids without input from adults being judgemental at home. Can we just teach kids to accept others for being different instead of teaching them to be horrible judgemental bullies like their parents?

Crankley · 28/06/2021 20:55

Change your own name if you like it so much. It's a bloody awful name for a child.

ILoveShula · 28/06/2021 20:53

How about łabędź?

imacuddler · 28/06/2021 20:52

I like the sound and I also love the birds...

I wouldn't let your child go near them if I were you ....they aren't the friendliest!

Dizzybintess · 28/06/2021 20:51

How about alarch (swan in welsh x)
