Morning lovelies!

What are your thoughts on Robyn (for a girl)

Do you know many?
What nicknames might organically evolve?

The Robins that I know never get shortened to Rob btw

Arrierttyclock · 25/06/2021 09:42

I think it's getting more popular. I prefer it for a girl but do know boys with it too. Good unisex name!

elvis4nuts · 25/06/2021 09:41

I'm having nightmares people will call her Rob 😳 It's encouraging that the vast majority of you so far don't think she will!

I know from personal experience (with my name and my daughters) you don't always have control over what people shorten names to!

I love it, and definitely prefer the spelling Robyn - in my mind Robin is the masculine version but either way it's a gorgeous name

MondayYogurt · 25/06/2021 09:07

Robyn the Swedish singer is v cool so I vote yes.

LewishamMum · 25/06/2021 09:05

I knew one who was always just Robyn. I don't think it naturally gets a shortened version, at least outside of family.
Weird, but I'm expecting, and if it's a boy it's going to be Robin, but I don't like it for a girl at all.

Pigeonorcoot · 25/06/2021 08:45

I prefer the spelling Robin. Bobby or Robby would cute nns.

skipperdoo · 25/06/2021 08:42

I know a couple Robyns, lovely name! Nn could be "Ro" which is quite cute.

ApplesandBananas21 · 25/06/2021 08:08

I like it, the two Robyns I know are just Robyns

LittleRa · 25/06/2021 08:07

I like it. My 7 year old (year 2) DD has one in her class.

CimCardashian · 25/06/2021 08:07

I like it

Lavender21 · 25/06/2021 08:07

I really like it.I used to know one, she would be in her twenties now.

MintyCedric · 25/06/2021 08:06

Love it.

Might get shortened to Rob or Bobbi but I guess that's in yours and your DDs hands.

The couple I have known have definitely been Robyns.

elvis4nuts · 25/06/2021 08:06

Just occurred to me people might buy her "Robin" themed presents her whole life.
That would get very dull very quickly 🙈

Oh lovely!!!
Robbie would be a naturally occurring nick name, which is very sweet.

Hippohappiness · 25/06/2021 08:03

I quite like it. I don't know any. It does feel slightly dated to me, in a similar way to Amber or Dawn, but it's much nicer.

sarah13xx · 25/06/2021 07:18

Not sure about nicknames but I like it. I’m a teacher and have never taught any. The ones I know are all in their 20s
