Thoughts on Imogen? I really quite like it - pretty but not frilly. How many do you know? It doesn't seem too popular to me.

It isn’t posh these days! Just vaguely MC i guess

partyatthepalace · 15/06/2021 08:42

It’s ok. Quite popular but not super popular I think.

Love it. Love the nn Mimi

Maggiesgirl · 15/06/2021 06:55

I know three, two at the same tiny primary school and one who is 12. I always think it is quite timeless. One of the small ones and the elder one have sisters called Isabelle and Isobel as well.

Nix32 · 15/06/2021 06:52

I've got one and she loves it. She's the only one in her school.

MrsBertBibby · 15/06/2021 06:51

Good name. I have only known one, at primary school. She was an Immo.

Violetlavenders · 15/06/2021 06:46

Sorry but I dislike it. I find it harsh sounding and unfeminine. I also find the 3 different vowels I O E sounds unharmonious together.

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 15/06/2021 01:07

Lovely - elegant Shakespearean vibe and cute nn options (Immy/Ginny) and has a kind of "classic British" feel to me (along with names like Rosamund, Celia, Verity etc).

But I've only met the two in RL (one in her 20's, the other in her 40's), surprising considering it's a top 100 name.

Heh1991 · 15/06/2021 00:53

I only know two- one who is 28 and one who is 7! Go for it x

Icantthinkofanythingrightnow · 15/06/2021 00:37

Love it! It's been falling every year in popularity since 2010. About to leave the top 50. Great choice

alexdgr8 · 15/06/2021 00:22

yes, makes me think of imogen holst. which is a good association.

Etinox · 15/06/2021 00:20

Lovely, and lends itself to nicknames Imi or Mimi or Mo.

CiaoForNiao · 15/06/2021 00:12

I love it. The only one I know is 6 weeks old.

LoopTheLoops · 15/06/2021 00:11

Love

Love it. I know a couple but it's not overused.

I have three nieces and two of them are called Imogen! (One is my SIL's, one my sisters) They are 16 years apart and one in UK, one in Australia. To me that illustrates Imogen is timeless.
