Thoughts on Imogen? I really quite like it - pretty but not frilly. How many do you know? It doesn't seem too popular to me.

I have a 22 year old Imogen and she is as wonderful as her name !

Edenember · 16/06/2021 11:37

Beautiful name. Classic and timeless but not dull. Feminine but not frilly. Perfect choice

Tillygetsit · 15/06/2021 22:51

I know a 14 year old Imogen. She's funny and very clever so I associate the name with her. Lovely.

DressingGown87 · 15/06/2021 22:15

Love Imogen… was one of my favourites. But I went with Paige. I found both names are timeless, not very common (round here), but also a known name so not misspelt / pronounced.

Vallmo47 · 15/06/2021 21:44

Imogen is elegant and timeless. Congratulations!

HR313 · 15/06/2021 21:43

I have one, so I’m biased! There is also one other Imogen at her nursery. Apart from that I’ve never known another Imogen and neither has my DH.

highlighteryellow · 15/06/2021 20:28

Really like it. I only know one, she is a toddler.

TatianaBis · 15/06/2021 16:13

Million miles better than Fern.

Fern could be middle name?

MadeOfStarStuff · 15/06/2021 16:07

Love it!

FindingMeno · 15/06/2021 15:45

Love Imogen, and don't know any!

ChubbyMsSunshine · 15/06/2021 15:29

Beautiful name.

Frlrlrubert · 15/06/2021 12:54

I like it. The ones I teach seem to go with 'Immy' as a nickname.

I do like it better than Fern.

TOWGA · 15/06/2021 12:37

I have a 6 day old called Imogen, so I like it Grin

bridgetreilly · 15/06/2021 12:34

I definitely prefer Imogen to Fern.

FraterculaArctica · 15/06/2021 12:30

I have one so obviously I love it Smile

17caterpillars1mouse · 15/06/2021 12:28

I quite like it. I only know three, one is early 30s, 1 early 20s and 1 two year old

LarsErickssong · 15/06/2021 11:57

I love it, I know of two, someone in their early 20's and an 18 month old

WaltzingToWalsingham · 15/06/2021 11:42

I love the name Imogen! It was on my shortlist for DD1 but we used a different name in the end. I don't know any personally, but there was a contestant called Imogen Thomas on Big Brother, years ago, who will probably be in her 30s now, and also a character in one of my favourite books as a child.

I'm not keen on Fern myself - it always sounds a bit glamour model somehow.

Peach1886 · 15/06/2021 11:40

maybe keep them both in contention (both fab names) until you meet DD as she might look/feel more like one than the other? We did this with DS and it worked well.

Icantthinkofanythingrightnow · 15/06/2021 11:34

Not so keen on Fern sorry @LowryLake
Your husband has good taste

LowryLake · 15/06/2021 11:31

Thanks for the feedback all. It's DH's favourite, though I think I still prefer Fern, although it doesn't flow with our surname as well as Imogen.

I know one, aged around 11. It's ok but I really dislike the nn "Imo" which is just ugly!

Nonmaquillee · 15/06/2021 08:56

Absolutely lovely 🥰
One of my favourites

NaToth · 15/06/2021 08:52

Ours is 32 now. It became quite popular some years after she was born, but seems to be declining again. That's probably a good thing. It's a classic name.

JeanClaudeVanDammit · 15/06/2021 08:43

I was friends with one in primary school a very long time ago and now DD is friends with one at nursery. Quite timeless I think.
