Suzanne is awesome. Choose that.

kissmelittleass · 15/06/2021 22:40

Katie is lovely

ILoveShula · 15/06/2021 22:05

I'm a Welsh speaker, so shortening Catrin to Katie seems really weird when Cadi (pron. Caddy) is so much more obvious.

Rhiannon isn't particularly unusual and isn't said like in the Fleetwood Mac song, and it's a very old name. Then again they said Sara as Sarah.

Suzanne seems a bit 1970s, but it's nice, but so are Julie and Michelle.

mooonstone · 15/06/2021 22:04

I’m another one doesn’t like rhiannon. Definitely bottom on the list. It’s not nice at all.

I don’t think it’s timeless either - I don’t know anyone my age called that (I’m 21/SE).

Katie is incredibly popular. Suzanne is the most unique but is ubiquitous with Susan. Both could be pronounced differently but it’s likely that some people will pronounce Suzanne as Susan.

Definitely agree that all 3 names are quite different from each other

PoliceDogWoof · 15/06/2021 22:00

Rhiannon - awful
Suzanne - dated, but Susan might come back. I like Susie
Katie - ok but boring

PurplePansy05 · 15/06/2021 21:55

Out of these three, Katie. Personally I'd go with Katherine, Kathryn, Catherine or Catrin though, nn Katie.

Sunny4876 · 15/06/2021 21:53

I'm a Rhiannon,I get called Rhi(Ree),hate Rhian and don't let anyone call me that.

ILoveShula · 15/06/2021 21:47

@samthebordercollie

Im in France and Suzanne is back in fashion now for babies. I'm Susan and hate my name. I was Sue n the UK but Sue sounds like Soule which is drunk in French so I reverted to Susan. But I still listen to the Archers and Susan Carter is horrible.

So I hate Susan.

How can you even dare to say such a thing Susan? Susan Carter might have been a Horrobin but she is not horrible. Far from it. She is a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, who works hard.

Call yourself a The Archers listener. Pah! You probably don't even make your husband a chilli as a special treat.

I shall report back to Radio Addicts.

TommyShelby · 15/06/2021 21:38

Rhiannon is a great name and slightly different but not really ‘out there’.

The other two are boring boring boring

Ellmau · 14/06/2021 21:31

Rhiannon feels the most timeless.

Suzanne is definitely dated and Katie is very generic.

Classica · 14/06/2021 01:04

I'm drawn to Rhiannon because I do love that song.

Katie - nah

Suzanne - prefer Susannah. It has more oomph.

Lalliella · 13/06/2021 23:59

1 Suzanne
2 Rhiannon
3 by a long way Katie - to me this is a child’s name not an adult’s

Tillygetsit · 13/06/2021 22:24

I have a Susannah so obviously prefer that to Suzanne.
Rhiannon is nice. I know a 20 something one who goes by Annie.
Katie is the name of a vile little madame who bullied my dd at nursery so NOOO!

mum2jakie · 13/06/2021 21:09

Rhiannon is beautiful!

callmemaybee · 13/06/2021 21:07

Rhiannon is vile

Suzanne is okay. Susan is a bit outdated, so Suzanne sort of falls in the same category as it is so similar.

Katie is by far the best, but it is a common and safe option

YourCakesAreShit · 13/06/2021 21:04

I've met all three.

Suzanne is fine but from the 1970s. Rhiannon is fine but from the early 1990s and is very rarely pronounced properly. Katie is fine but is much better as a nickname for Katherine (spelt as you wish), or, if you must, Caitlin.

Einszwei · 13/06/2021 20:59

Katherine nn. Katie

TheJoySpreader · 13/06/2021 20:58

Rhiannon is the only acceptable name of the three.

In fact I'd go as far as to say that all babies should be called Rhiannon, even if they are boys.

WhenZoomWasJustAnIceLolly · 13/06/2021 20:55

Rhiannon if you live somewhere where it can be pronounced ! The other two are dated and not great.

DogsnKids · 13/06/2021 20:53

Rhiannon is a wonderful name, it's very Welsh though. Katie is a shortened name which I don't like and Suzanne is naff

PinkGlitteryTiggs · 13/06/2021 20:50

Never met a nice Suzanne, Katie isn’t really a birth certificate name, but a baby Katherine doesn’t seem right.

I do like Rhiannon though.

AuntieCorruption · 13/06/2021 20:48

Rhiannon is the bestest! The other two smell of poo!

Benediction · 13/06/2021 20:45

I gave my dd Susannah as a middle name. No idea why it isn't more popular. It's very pretty. Suzanne less so, seems dated.

QuestioningEverything2 · 13/06/2021 20:42

Suzanne is awful, but like Susannah. Depends if you mind Suzy or not.

Like Katie. Love Rhiannon, although not Rhianne or Rhianna for some reason
