Elias, Elliott or Elijah?

Got our 20 week scan in a couple of weeks and we’ve been discussing possible boy and girl names. We’ve already decided on the name if it’s a girl, but really struggling with boy names! We already have a son called Lucas. What’s everyone’s thoughts on Elias, Elliott or Elijah? Maybe Eli for short? Smile
Thank you!

I have an Elias and so glad I chose that over Elijah.

Luredbyapomegranate · 09/05/2022 23:15

Elijah just pips it over Elias for me, as the latter is having a moment I think, but both great.

Elliot is not.

Mumofgirls2017 · 09/05/2022 22:04

Elias is my favourite but others go better with Lucas as not too samey

SpaceJamtart · 09/05/2022 19:07

I love Elliot and it goes really well with Lucas

Elijah is nice too but it throws me off with the pronunciation as Juh or Zjuh, I would assume very religious parents

Firebird83 · 09/05/2022 19:06

Lucas and Elias

caringcarer · 09/05/2022 17:59

Elliot
Ellis

VintageGibbon · 09/05/2022 17:51

They're all good names. My preference is Elijah, then Elias then Elliott but all classic.

spinachmonster · 09/05/2022 17:45

Lucas and Eli sound great together! Love both Elias and Elijah. ❤️

Elspethelf · 09/05/2022 17:19

Elliott is my fave from your list. I prefer Ellis to all three if that’s an option.

spiderlight · 09/05/2022 14:43

I love Elias and Elliott. Had both on my list for my own DS and would definitely have used Elias if we'd ever had a second.

pinklavenders · 09/05/2022 14:30

Elias is nice.

I don't like Eli for a boy, I know too many girls called this, short for Eleanor.

Theoldwoman · 09/05/2022 13:23

My favourite is Elias, but not with Lucas.

I would pick Elijah.

FayCarew · 09/05/2022 11:51

Elliott, the others are too long

BorisJohnsonis · 09/05/2022 10:16

I think you all sound a bit daft and Elliot sounds like a middle manager working ina second rate bank

17caterpillars1mouse · 13/06/2021 07:56

I like all of them and Eli. I like Elliott best though probably wouldn't use Eli for it

LowryLake · 13/06/2021 07:37

Elliot. The other two sound way too biblical for my taste. Personally I'd go for Ellis - lovely Welsh name.

Theoldwoman · 13/06/2021 06:36

Normally I would say Elias, but seeing as you already have a Lucas, it doesn't go together, I would go for Elijah.

daisypond · 13/06/2021 01:07

Elias is nice. I also like Elliot.
Elijah is odd alongside Lucas. Elias is the Greek form, I think, so goes much better with Lucas.

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 13/06/2021 01:01

Elias is great - very popular internationally but seems to have flown under the radar a bit more in the UK. I must admit I prefer the European "Eh-lee-as" pronunciation, but since you'll get "Ee- lye-as" in the UK, Eli makes sense as a nn.While nice enough, Elijah and and Elliott are much more popular and feel a bit trendy to me.

Blue4YOU · 12/06/2021 23:30

I love them all but Elias the most!
There’s also Elian

SomethingNastyInTheBallPool · 12/06/2021 23:29

Elijah. I like Elias, but two names ending in “as” is a bit much.

jollyho · 12/06/2021 23:29

Biased as I have an Elliott, as opposed to PP we named him so because of ET.

But I also like Elias a lot.

Tillygetsit · 12/06/2021 23:26

Elias
Elijah

Elliott.

partyatthepalace · 12/06/2021 23:17

Elias. But I like Elijah too, and Elisha. Not keen on Elliott.

WeCameToDance · 12/06/2021 21:30

Maybe somewhat outing but I have an Elias so I’m going to be biased and say it’s a great name Grin

I actually wanted to name him Elijah but dh’s friend had just named his baby that so we didn’t feel comfortable using it. He’s the only one in his class and I haven’t heard any others being called at the school gates although I think it may be very slowly rising in popularity.
