Love them both but Rosalind is my favourite

pilates · 14/06/2021 19:55

Rosalind nn Rosa
Sarah is dated and dull

piratehooker · 14/06/2021 19:49

Another vote for Rosalind, very pretty. Sarah comes across plain and a bit dull to me.

strawberrybeer · 14/06/2021 19:44

Sarah is very boring. Well if you're like me and of a certain generation where there were at least 5 in your year!

IslandLulu · 14/06/2021 17:35

Sarah

Littleheart5 · 14/06/2021 17:28

Sarah all the way. I think it’s so underused these days, a total classic for me. Very feminine and pretty but still strong. I have to say I like there’s no obvious nickname for it!

Roselilly36 · 13/06/2021 08:22

I love both names OP, great choices.

17caterpillars1mouse · 13/06/2021 08:00

Love both.

I'd probably go with Sarah. Beautiful, classic name and possibility to go by Sadie. I also like Sara

Sarah Rosalind would be a beautiful name

almahart · 12/06/2021 14:57

Sarah is a beautiful name and surely due a revival

FeedMeSantiago · 12/06/2021 14:48

Rosalind. They go nicely together though, Rosalind Sarah is nice as is Sarah Rosalind.

The other rose names are nice too - Rose, Rosa, Rosalie, Rosanne, Rosanna, Rosemary and Rosamund.

MissyB1 · 12/06/2021 09:53

Yes beware Roz! Sarah is classic and pretty.

theotherfossilsister · 12/06/2021 09:42

Both lovely.

SoapboxFox · 12/06/2021 09:40

I really like Sarah. It would make a refreshing change these days to hear of a baby Sarah.

IsFuzzyBeagMise · 12/06/2021 09:01

Sarah Rosalind go well together!
I used Rosalind as a middle name for one of my dds. I think it's a lovely name, but not fond of Roz. Rosa is lovely though. I was tempted to use that as a first name. I like Sarah. I don't think there are too many baby Sarahs around at the moment.

RoseMartha · 12/06/2021 09:00

Sarah

RoseHarper · 12/06/2021 08:57

Sarah is beautiful, as is Rosalind but I dont like Roz which is inevitable as a nn.

Posieandpip · 12/06/2021 08:55

I like pretty much all Rose names except Rosalind. Rosa is much nicer!

Sarah is a little dull, agree with a PP about Zara, or Sarai?

VenusClapTrap · 12/06/2021 04:20

Rosalind. I had a school friend called this and she never shortened it - nicknames aren’t inevitable. It’s a beautiful name.

I don’t get the love for Sarah, personally. Probably because I know too many, so it just seems like the ultimate boring name.

notangelinajolie · 12/06/2021 01:51

I'd go for Rosamund nn Rose.

Sorry, not helpful (Downton fan Smile)

But seriously, Sarah is nicer than Rosalind.
And Rosamund nicer than Rosalind.
Go for Rose Smile

resm · 12/06/2021 01:18

Sarah, love it and think it’s very classic. Still a lot of teenage Sarahs in Ireland so not a dated name to me at all.

Rosalind is lovely too, but might lend itself to nicknames too easily - whether that’s a good or bad thing, personal choice.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 12/06/2021 01:12

Sarah

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 12/06/2021 01:02

Love Rosalind - very elegant, Shakespearean, with a great namesake in Scientist Franklin. Sadly I hate the sound of the nn Roz, so I don't know if I could risk it personally (the few I've met have all been known as Roz rather than the full version). But if you don't mind that nn, then I'd go for it!

Sarah is very pretty and so classic. But you may need to consider whether your DD could think it's more a "Mum" name or not (because it was so hugely popular in the 70's, 80's and even into the early 90's that there will likely be quite a few Sarah's at the school gates).

Ellmau · 11/06/2021 20:23

Rosalind is great - beautiful, elegant yet strong.

Sarah is just a bit plain.

Synchrony · 11/06/2021 20:19

Sarah! I love it. Not popular with babies today.

bridgetreilly · 11/06/2021 19:00

Rosalind, 100%.

Rosalind Sarah is lovely.
