That's all really. Middle name will probably be Maria..not that it matters much. Surname is 1 syllable.

Rosalind is lovely.

reallyalurker · 10/06/2021 19:30

I prefer Lindy, and have come across it short for Belinda.

You could consider Sunniva with the short form Sunny?

See en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sunniva

Rosalind, Evelyn, or Lynette with nn Lindy? Or what about Lindsey?

Lindy on it's own feels a bit "incomplete" to me.

AleynEivlys · 10/06/2021 16:31

Went to school with a girl called Lindy (am 33). It was short for Rosalind.

Kittybelle123 · 10/06/2021 15:59

I prefer Lindy. I knew a lovely Lindy whose real name was Lucinda.

TheBitchOfTheVicar · 10/06/2021 15:59

Linnet?

Lindy2 · 10/06/2021 15:56

I'd choose Lindy Grin

Puffinhead · 10/06/2021 15:45

What about Carolyn with Lindy as a nn? I know someone who had that.

I personally don’t like Linda.

JustineTimee · 10/06/2021 15:27

I think Lindy is nice

BeastOfBODMAS · 10/06/2021 15:18

How about Rosalind or Emmeline nn Lindy?

Booboobadoo · 10/06/2021 15:17

I like Lindy - know it from Lindy Layton which I think was NN for Belinda

FrumpyBetty · 10/06/2021 15:13

I know a Lindy in her 20's. She is a wonderful human and I think its a great name.

Go with what you love.

KirstenBlest · 10/06/2021 15:11

Lindy short for Linda

Abracadabra12345 · 10/06/2021 15:00

@ElaineMarieBenes

Believe me Lindy will be called Lindy Loo - please don’t!
A little girl we know is called Lucy and is always being called Lucy Loo. It’s an endearment
Abracadabra12345 · 10/06/2021 14:58

@Crockof

When I first read Lindy I wasn't keen but reading it on here on all the posts it has really grown on me, I think you should use it, when baby is here it will become their name.
Me too. The more I say it, the more I like it
Seriouslymole · 10/06/2021 14:57

Rosalind? I love Lindy but feel it needs a “proper” name to link to for some inexplicable reason.

Sunny - nope.

Gmmllw · 10/06/2021 14:55

It's rare that I have any feelings about a name. But both of these I really dislike.

NanaNorasNaughtyKnickers · 10/06/2021 14:54

Twins called Sunny and Windy could work 🤔

augustusglupe · 10/06/2021 14:51

First thing I thought of was the connection to Lindy Chamberlain…so no.
Also don’t like Sonny for a girl.

Elouera · 10/06/2021 14:47

@Antiqueanniesmagiclanternshow

It's not ' sunny jim' , it is Sonny Jim. Like when men call younger men ' son'

I think they're both awful sorry.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sunny_Jim
Marcipex · 10/06/2021 14:46

I absolutely love Lindy. Not so keen on Linda.
How about Lindis? I used to know a nice Lindis.

Sunny is awful, sorry, and sounds exactly like the dreadful Sonny that people are using for boys.

ElaineMarieBenes · 10/06/2021 14:42

Believe me Lindy will be called Lindy Loo - please don’t!

withiceplease · 10/06/2021 14:17

I really like Lindy
I wish I'd have called one of mine Joni but DH was set against it and I still regret it 20 years later

Bluedelphinium · 10/06/2021 14:11

Linda is pretty cool and due a resurgence in maybe 10 years or so. I associate Lindy with a really warm, cheerful lady I used to work with.

YesToThis · 10/06/2021 14:10

I think Lindy is okay - also like Lintie which I've come across in Scotland. Not sure if it's short for something
