Evelyn and Eleanor

Vivian is nice how about verity?
Not that keen on Eliza or Diane.
I have and Evelyn her sister is called Iris.

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 09/06/2021 21:37

Of the three, Vivien works best imo (this is the traditional female spelling in the UK) - same pretty, retro feel as Evelyn to me.

Diana would be lovely too (Diane is more dated - feels a bit 50 years ago compared to Evelyn's vintage 100 years ago).

Eliza is not my taste - a bit "trendy nickname" to me. Plus I'm not keen on having the same initials for sisters.

Other suggestions:
Florence
Iris
Sylvia
Cora
Lillian
Josephine
Celia/Cecilia
Louisa
Lydia

Eliza - nice, but wrong century for a sister named Evelyn.
Vivian - a filler middle name, very bland, and too close to Evelyn in sound.
Diane - too dated.

I would suggest
Elspeth
Vera
Dionne

Or
Hazel
Tamsin
Sadie
Edith
Penelope
Alice
Lucy
Ivy
Louise
Zoe
Laurel
Isobel
Juliet
Violet
Flora
Nancy

I thought it was Vivienne for a girl and Vivian for a boy. Spelt the famine way I like it better than either Diane or Eliza.

SnottyLottie · 09/06/2021 20:45

I really love the name Eliza! But if you go for two ‘E’ names, will you follow the ‘E’ initial trend if you have a third?

Vivian is nice but I personally prefer Vivienne. I’m not sure it works well with Evelyn thought, they’re both very ‘v’ heavy and end with a ‘n’ so they sound a little too matchy, rather than complimentary.

Diane sounds a bit dated to me. I prefer Diana.

Divebar2021 · 09/06/2021 20:42

I like Vivienne with that spelling. Also

Lillian
Sylvie
Daphne
Pearl
Cicely
Delphine
Esme
Ruby
Scarlett
I want to say Betty but fear people with laugh 😂

ArchbishopOfBanterbury · 09/06/2021 20:39

Diana for me.

I love Eliza too, but you already have a Miss E Gsurname

Spied · 09/06/2021 20:34

Eliza

Fooshufflewickjbannanapants · 09/06/2021 20:24

Constance or connie

partyatthepalace · 09/06/2021 20:12

Love Diana, but Diane is a bit bargain basement (unless you’re French) I like Eliza, especially if a nn for Elizabeth, but two Es might be a pain. Vivian is ok - I think Vivien is the usual female spelling.

Other thoughts
Stella
Cleo
Frances / Francesca
Serena
Marianne
Honor
Anna / Hannah / Annabel / Annabeth
Adela
Louisa
Iris
Margot
Clara
Lois
Zara
Miranda
Genevieve
Claudia
Iona

LizziesTwin · 09/06/2021 19:47

Elsie & Grace (grandma was one of those three).

TatianaBis · 09/06/2021 19:46

Vivian is an 80s manicurist.
Diane is a 70s hairdresser. Diana if you must.

Which leaves Eliza which is a bit too similar to Evelyn for my taste.

sonicshoegazes · 09/06/2021 19:44

Love Eliza and Vivian.

I also think Ruby goes well with Evelyn.

And Daphne.

SquigglePigs · 09/06/2021 19:44

I like Eliza best although Diane is ok.

Vivian is too similar sounding I think.

What about:
Abigail
Beatrix
Kathryn
Alexandra
Cassandra
Harriet

nancywhisky · 09/06/2021 19:35

Dinah

Greenmarmalade · 09/06/2021 19:35

Diane

Also maybe
Grace
