I certainly do!
Cant stand the name Molly and Polly 🤮 my aunt had a cat named Molly that was horrible, it's used to wait on the stairs and scratch you ankles when you tried to pass it. And there was a girl who was mean to me at school called Pollyanna!
OH suggested Mollie when I were pregnant and I almost had a turn!
It's sad because they are quite cute names, I just hate the sound of them.

@HoldingTheDoor

Never met a nice Fiona.

It's the opposite for me. I haven't yet met a Fiona who wasn't lovely.

I'm a nice Fiona! 😊 (or at least I'd like to think so! 😂)

Fay/Faye
Kim
Rob/Robert
Went to school with people with those names who were dreadful.
Then had work colleagues with the same name who were just as awful.

*Malcolm

Lemur12 · 02/06/2021 18:41

Yep - Esme - horrible work bully. Shame, as it's a lovely name.

Melanie - an awful, extremely negative work colleague, and a two faced friend at uni... though can't say I'm that keen on the name anyway.

On the flip side, I love the name Malcom, due to two lovely Malcoms, whereas before I didn't like it at all, so works both ways.

Samantha, Ruth - school bullies

lebigface · 02/06/2021 11:46

I actually don't and don't don't find I associate the name with the person who was mean to me or who I disliked. But I think it's often the case that I've met multiple people with the same names so it's never solely associated with one person.

Itsprobablynothingbut · 02/06/2021 11:04

I've never met a Jonathan I have liked, I'm not particularly keen on the sound of it anyway though

Dawn. Absolute bitch of a woman in my very first job. Also Wendy, because of MN! Sorry to all you lovely Dawns and Wendys out there!

Nellle · 01/06/2021 23:41

I've never met a Hannah who wasn't completely insane.

girlmama32 · 01/06/2021 23:38

I have so many, 10 years in childcare puts you off ALOT of names. It was a nightmare when choosing my own DD's name, I felt like every name DH suggested was a big nope

Pawprints2017 · 01/06/2021 23:14

I actually really liked Violet when I was pregnant. Reminded me of the girl from "a series of unfortunate events."
Then someone mentioned the really horrible girl from Charlie and the chocolate factory. Now I could never use it.

TeaSoakedDisasterMagnet · 01/06/2021 20:31

Yes, mainly the girls who bullied me at school! Lucy, Natasha, Leanne, Danielle.

Liverbird77 · 01/06/2021 20:29

Julia. There was a girl at university who was heavily flirting with my boyfriend at the time. I loved him so much and it really upset me. I was only 21!

msbevvy · 01/06/2021 01:17

Boris

TaraR2020 · 01/06/2021 01:15

Never known a nice Samantha

Maria53 · 01/06/2021 01:04

@GCAcademic

All of the Julies I’ve known have been vile bullies. One in my class in primary school, another in my class in secondary school and then a manager in my first workplace.
I have a Julie in my life right now who is a bully!
Maria53 · 01/06/2021 01:04

Veronica - a horrid bully.
