My son is James, middle name is with an R, still call him JJ. Nobody questions me on it though.

@Lemonlemon88

I think JJ could just be short for a single name starting with J. That said some combos -

Juniper Jane
Jemima Jean
Josephine Julia
Juliet Jocasta

Jeremy James
Jordan Joseph

Love these ! :)

@DramaAlpaca

First of all, the term 'double barrelled' refers to surnames, not to first names. First names joined by a hyphen are known as 'hyphenated'.

Personally, I don't like hyphenated first names much so I don't think it's a good idea.

However calling a child Jessica Jane or Joseph John, for example, to get the nickname JJ is quite sweet.

Okay thank you and yes my idea is to have JJ as a nickname. I'm also look at uncommon names or names that will more than likely become uncommon in the future. So far I have Joey and Jackson but recently Jackson/jax has become popular

John Joseph becomes JohnJoe or JJ
Jeremiah John becomes Jerry then JJ (great song - )

Josephine Jane could become JoJo or JJ

@Serpenta

I think JJ would work with a first and middle name beginning with J. For some reason that seems less cheesy to me than a double barreled first name.
Didn't think of that, thank you!

@Serpenta

Double barrel first names like Jessica-Jane or Jonathan-James?

Bad idea.

Sometimes I think it sounds okay having JJ but I'm always stuck on what JJ can be shorten from
