Am in the Highlands, so it's a 'fit-in' name I'm looking for. I don't want to resurrect a name that hasn't been used since 1852...

It needs to be pronouncable/spellable for non-Gaelic speakers, so although I love Eòghann, Seonachan etc, they probably won't work. I'm looking for a name already commonly used, which non-Gaelic speakers are accustomed to seeing already.

I've got a shortlist, but hoping to expand it!

Alasdair
Iain
Niall
Ruairidh
Cailean

Can anyone add to the list?

Are you ok with anglicised versions or do you only want the original Gaelic?

I like Innes, but Aonghas might be harder to pronounce (Angus is also nice but a million miles away from the Gaelic pn)

Sorley also nice if you don't want Somhairle

Struan is another anglicisation but I love the name.

I love Alasdair and Ruaridh
I know a Niall and everyone assumes it's pronounced Ny-all but he uses Neal. For me it's with Iain as a bit out dated.
Fergus / Fearghas
Lachlann / Lachlan
I was going to suggest Murdo but it seems the gaelic spelling is Murchadh which might be harder!
