So i was planning on naming my daughter Raven, she's due in September, but i found a really nice unusual name but i don't know what other people would think about it, Shado. What do you think of the name Shado? TIA

Shado looks like it should be pronounces Shay-doe not Shadow. If you really want Shadow then just spell it like that.

It's bloody awful, it sounds like the name of a dog or a horse, but it would be even worse if no-one pronounced it properly.

This. Imagine all the years of people mangling the pronunciation, and the looks she'll get when she says "Actually, it's pronounced shadow" 😂

Octavia is a great surname.
Shadow is ok, not a bad name imho. I just don't think it lives up to being paired with Octavia.
Raven would work well enough, can hold its own with Octavia.

Shad-ow and Shaydo are 2 different pronunciations. Its either one or the other. Confused.

I actually like the sound of Shadow but I don't think a 15 year old girl would thank you for it.
Im the opposite with Raven. I think it has cool free spirited vibe, but I'm not keen on the sound.

Sounds like you made it up and can't spell. Raven is much better - unless they're blonde and then it wouldn't work for me.

Raven is nice, maybe not everyone's cup of tea but we are all different.
I would definitely pronunce Shado as Shaydo so I think you would be setting your child up for a lifetime of issues.

Raven is fairly uncommon but has a nice sound and seems perfectly reasonable/not weird since Robin and Wren are well known names used for people. I wouldn't use Shado - misspelt and more of a pets name (lots of people with black haired/furred pets seem to call them Shadow).

Raven isn’t my taste at all but is better than misspelled Shado

Although as PP said Raven would be a bit of an odd choice on a blonde haired blue eyed baby

I think I both are awful. Raven if you had to pick. Shado makes you look like you can’t spell. Also calling your child a shadow seems odd and kids might tease her and call her saddo. Not for me!

I saw 'Shado' and said 'Sado' so it's a no from me.

Poor child will spend forever saying 'there's no W in my name'.
