@Ellmau I do too! We hadn't thought of it until recently and it's genuinely the only name we agree on it just feels right!!! X

@Allthebears yeah it's a great name isn't it! We've struggled loads to find names we agree on, and we were watching lucifer on tv! There's a gorgeous little girl called Beatrix, (Trixie) and we both went oooooo I love it! X

Beatrix is a fab name! Lots of great shortenings/nickname potential too - Bea / Bee
Beattie
Trixie
Even Betty or Betsy

Really stylish, and goes well with Amelia too.

AnxiousAnnie86 · 13/05/2021 09:45

Thanks so much ladies!!! I really really appreciate it! We came to a decision finally last night!! Not even going with a H name now 😂😂

We are either going to call her

Juniper Amelia
Beatrix Amelia

Amelia being the middle name, it was my Nanas name x

Juniper is fantastic - use that! Give yourself credit. And whatever you choose a heap of people won't like it.

Musication · 13/05/2021 04:21

Call her Juniper. Who gives a shit what strangers on mumsnet think? I called my DD a popular flower name that everyone seems to hate on mumsnet. I don't care even a tiny bit because I love it, it suits her and she loves her name.

@ChildOfFriday I think I was put off by such negativity just because my husband wasn't overly sold, but came round then when people were reallt against it it put me off a bit, but hearing all these lovely comments has restored my faith! X

I'm surprised to hear Juniper had a negative reaction- it's not to my taste but I'm normally in a significant minority on MN as on most threads I've seen it is almost universally loved, and always brought up on threads about your favourite name/what would you name a baby girl if you had one right now. If that's the name you want then I would go for it OP. If you do a search for other MN Baby Name threads on Juniper you'll probably find ones with far more positive opinions Smile

SE13Mummy · 12/05/2021 17:30

If you were to have a Harriet, would you call her Harriet or expect to refer to her as Hattie, Harry etc.? I think it's a great name and if you love it, you should use it. Cousin Harry and your baby might enjoy having similar names but also, they may not grow up to be very close so then you'd have avoided using a name you love for no reason. I know married couples whose names are George and Georgina as well as Alison and Alistair; it's a non-issue. Use Harriet if you love it. Harriet Juniper works well too!

2weekstogo · 12/05/2021 17:30

@AnxiousAnnie86 I don't get it what's wrong with Juniper??? I think it's a lovely name 💖

The people on here always mostly like the same boring names - clearly don't like change

A lot of people on here aren't a fan of the name we've picked but I wouldn't change it I'm pretty stubborn anyway 😂

It's difficult enough picking a name if you love it use it

Crocidura · 12/05/2021 17:27

Heidi
Helena

Checkingout811 · 12/05/2021 17:26

@AnxiousAnnie86 oh 😂 maybe not then.
We have a different problem. My nephew Harry is known by his paternal grandparents as Arry. So poor Hettie would be Ettie here

AnxiousAnnie86 · 12/05/2021 17:25

@Checkingout811 love Hettie, but where we live people rarely pronounce their Ts 😂
