Fox for a boy? Thoughts?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
EducatingArti · 09/05/2021 12:38

I'm assuming your surname isn't Hunter

Rainbowqueeen · 09/05/2021 12:36

Not my taste

iklboo · 09/05/2021 12:34

Use it as a nickname if you like it, rather than a given name.

lulugee · 09/05/2021 12:25

Really really stupid. Don't ruin your sons life chances with this name please.

SpeedRunParent · 09/05/2021 12:23

I really think you need to imagine what is going to be like to be saddled with a 'trendy' 'unique' name like that.
I know a Striker, an Ace and a Fox and people just roll their eyes when they hear the names. And they are children, imagine having to introduce yourself with one of those names at a business Ed's meeting, people will struggle to take them seriously.

Blueskytoday06 · 09/05/2021 12:22

It's cute but it's not a name you can actually use.

becca3210 · 09/05/2021 12:21

I don't like it I'm afraid. Sounds too hipster/trying to be unique etc.

Jabba2020 · 09/05/2021 12:21

Badger?

SappysCurry · 09/05/2021 12:20

Or Badger (like Breaking Bad)

PurpleRainDancer · 09/05/2021 12:20

@HeeHawSeeSaw

Imagine when you go clothes shopping for him -lets get Fox's socks Smile
Sounds like the title of a children’s book Grin
SappysCurry · 09/05/2021 12:19

I think Wolf is better

Notaroadrunner · 09/05/2021 12:19

I agree, it's ridiculous.

PurpleRainDancer · 09/05/2021 12:18

Mulder?

dannydyerismydad · 09/05/2021 12:18

In fact, I know 3 Foxes, a Bear and a Wolf. Animal names are very now.

HeeHawSeeSaw · 09/05/2021 12:16

Imagine when you go clothes shopping for him -lets get Fox's socks Smile

randomer · 09/05/2021 12:16

Stoat?

RaraRachael · 09/05/2021 12:13

@Limegreens

Ridiculous Grin.
This, precisely.

Fox is not a name. Poor kid Sad

MyCatIsADentist · 09/05/2021 12:12

It’s having a bit of a moment, isn’t it? I know two Foxes born this year, a boy and a girl. Personally it’s really not to my taste - not a proper name, not a nice sound, not nice connotations. But I’m clearly a bit old fashioned about things like this since it is becoming more popular!

dannydyerismydad · 09/05/2021 12:08

I know 3. It's quite popular locally.

MimiDaisy11 · 09/05/2021 12:01

It's probably a generational thing but it makes me think of the X-Files.
It's a bit too out there for me to use but I don't mind it.

Limegreens · 09/05/2021 11:55

Ridiculous Grin.

SoMuchForSummerLove · 09/05/2021 11:52

It's a bit 'check us out we're so edgy and hipster'

YouAreTheWordsIAmTheTune · 09/05/2021 11:47

called OUT Fox

toastofthetown · 09/05/2021 11:46

Not a fan personally. It is painfully trendy to me, and I think it will end up as fast fashion name. It's risen dramatically from very low use to almost 100 babies, and I think it will fall just as quickly in a few years.

YouAreTheWordsIAmTheTune · 09/05/2021 11:46

I saw a wee film clip the other day about two wee boys in IKEA and the parents of one boy called Fox and the other kid went to them! Both families thought they had the only Fox and were being unique!
