I'm really gravitating towards this name and I'd be interested to get some feedback. Smile

Really really lovely.

JemimaJoy · 06/05/2021 14:53

Love Josephine nn Josie! If I ever have another I'm stealing it! It's classy and beautiful but Josie also has a fiesty feel to it, like a Josie would be a really cool little girl! According to a quick Google, othet nicknames for Josephine are Sephy and Posy which are also adorable but Josie is best!

elp30 · 06/05/2021 13:20

I like it very much.

One of my favorite songs is called, "Josie" (by Steely Dan)

Go for it!

bridgetreilly · 06/05/2021 13:07

Delightful. I like Josephine nn Josie, personally.

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 06/05/2021 12:50

Josie's a sweet nn for the lovely, elegant Josephine. If you call her Josie from Day 1 then that is what she will likely stay - but it's nice to have Josephine on the BC imo in case she wants something more formal when she's older.

ellenpartridge · 06/05/2021 08:52

Really nice name, I'd also put Josephine on birth cert and use Josie day to day

mammmamia · 06/05/2021 08:46

Yes Josee not Jozee. Much nicer!

BonnyEm · 06/05/2021 06:50

It's one of my all time favourite girls names.

Fifthtimelucky · 06/05/2021 06:47

I'd go for Josephine and I know two of them: one who goes by Jo and one of whom uses Josie, which I much prefer.

I don't suppose that she is the same one that @Frownette knows, but 'my' Josie is also one of the nicest people I know.

@Puntastic: I assume they meant that Josie should be pronounced with a 'see' sound not a 'zee'.

miltonj · 06/05/2021 06:46

@Puntastic pronouncing it with an S rather than a Z sounds ☺️

Frownette · 06/05/2021 05:45

One of the loveliest people I know is Josephine/Josie so I'm all for it 😊

Congrats Flowers

Puntastic · 06/05/2021 05:43

@miltonj

It's really lovely. Both as a stand alone name and as short for Josephine. As long as you don't say it to rhyme with cozy!!
How would you say it not to rhyme with cozy?
Puntastic · 06/05/2021 05:43

Another that really likes Josephine. Makes me think of Little Women.

mammmamia · 06/05/2021 05:38

I love it but really don’t like Josephine, I’d go for Joanna on the bc. Love that name but less keen on Jo.

miltonj · 06/05/2021 05:16

FreesiaFairy · 06/05/2021 04:20

Jodie or Rosie are better in my opinion :-)

VenusClapTrap · 05/05/2021 23:24

Love Josephine.

partyatthepalace · 04/05/2021 19:23

As a nn for Joanna etc then great

AuntieStella · 04/05/2021 18:33

Josette is a perectly good French name that has been around for centuries.

AnyaMoondial · 04/05/2021 18:21

Josephine nn Josie is really good.

sunsetsand · 04/05/2021 18:18

Not Josette Confused

Why mess with it, it's lovely as Josephine and Josie

moofolk · 04/05/2021 18:14

I like it

AuntieStella · 04/05/2021 18:05

I really like it, and would use Josette as the full form

Whatalottachocca · 04/05/2021 18:01
