We have a little boy, called Benjamin.
We have a little girl due in September and my Husband and I are both wanting the name Emma.

It might be just me... but does anyone think of Friends and Ross's children, or am I over thinking? 😂 xx

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Nope, not until you said it. Two lovely, classic names.

Lnix · 30/04/2021 10:26

Didn't cross my mind at all.

I love both names!

Warrickdaviesasplates · 30/04/2021 10:25

No I wouldn't have made that connection at all.

If you'd named your DC Chandler and Monica or Ross and Rachel maybe I'd say "oh like in friends?" But Benjamin and Emma are very normal names so it's not like an immediate link would be made to a... 20 year old? Sitcom.

No. As another pp has said, they’re such classic names that a particular association doesn’t stand out.

Dollywilde · 30/04/2021 10:19

I’ve watched Friends about a million times and I didn’t click until you pointed it out Smile think it’s fine, especially since you never see them as a pair. Jack and Erica I probably would click!

lovelsa · 30/04/2021 10:18

Nope! Didn't even cross my mind! Lovely names!

KirstenBlest · 30/04/2021 09:53

I like both names very much, and I did not know about Ross's children.

AnyaMoondial · 30/04/2021 09:48

Fab names. Wouldn’t make the link to friends at all.

Toreportornot · 30/04/2021 09:42

Nope, I didn’t click either until you said.
Agree with the above, plus Friends is years old now and whilst a lot of people may be aware of the link, it’s not fresh in their minds.

BertieBotts · 30/04/2021 09:06

It was not my first thought at all :)

They are such common names (not a criticism) that I don't think it will occur to people. That's the good thing in some way about more traditional names, people have so many associations it kind of dilutes the associations that are there.
