First Honest Thoughts...

We have a little boy, called Benjamin.
We have a little girl due in September and my Husband and I are both wanting the name Emma.

It might be just me... but does anyone think of Friends and Ross's children, or am I over thinking? 😂 xx

never heard of what you refer to.
benjamin is a fine name.
emma is too.
and they go together well.

Thinking about it... Ross is totally a deadbeat dad and I don’t think you see much (any??) of Ben after Emma is born. So I doubt many people would make the connection, even as a fan of the show, since as far as I remember they are never seen together and rarely even mentioned in the same sentence.

I was expecting some awful names, when I read it I actually smiled. Love friends but didn't see the connection. Congratulations, lovely names, you are very lucky.

I’m a huge fan of Friends and still didn’t make the connection at first. Is he always Benjamin or sometimes Ben? Even with Ben I don’t think I’d realise straight away, as the two children never had overlapping storylines in the show if that makes sense.

Only once you said it did I go ah yes. But it still didn't make me think you'd named them after them. Emma is a lovely name.

Beautiful names go for it!. Watched plenty of friends when I was younger and I didn't recall they were Ross's children's names.

I wouldn’t have registered the connection. I watched friends years ago but don’t remember the baby names.

Emma is a lovely name (as is Benjamin). Go for it!

Besides.. hadn’t Ross basically ditched Ben by the time Emma came along?! 😬😂

I'll be honest, I did make the link but I don't think it matters. It was fleeting and I wouldn't think you'd named them after the show characters, just a coincidence - they're lovely, classic names. It's not like you named them Ross and Monica!

I watched friends on loop breastfeeding 2 kids and I didn't make the connection even if your sons name was shortened to Ben. Lovely sibling names!

I didn't make the association.

From memory Ben was barely seen or mentioned in the later series of Friends so I don't think 'Ben and Emma' were mentioned together very often.

I have seen all episodes of Friends so many times and the didn't make the connection at all. They aren't known as a sibling set really so I wouldn't worry. It's not like Bill & Ben or Max & Ruby where the names are always said together (I have met siblings with these names too)

I watch a lot of Friends and didn't want anyone to think I had named my children after Ross Geller 😂

I love classic/timeless names and Emma stood out to me immediately ❤ xx

It’s been long enough, I don’t think friends is in the forefront of anyone’s minds anymore. Emma has been having a comeback in the US for a few years now. I know so many under 5 but all American.

I love benjamin,am thinking of using it myself.
And Emma is a lovely name too.
