If we have a Flora, can we also have a Clover? or is it too much butter?

Yes! Then have a boy and call him Trex.

Emmelina · 03/05/2021 13:50

This is probably outing if the wrong person reads it, but I had two bunny rabbits named Clover and Flora when I was a child.

TinyTickler · 03/05/2021 13:29

I love Clover too and have spent ages trying to convince DH but she would be Clover Dale...

TheDaydreamBelievers · 01/05/2021 09:25

Sorry @abittoofat I also think you butter not...

Similar sounds include Clara, Cora, Clodagh?

@Thecurtainsofdestiny

Go for it! Why stop when you're on a roll?
😂😂
Goldrill · 30/04/2021 23:52

We've got a Flora. Her sister is pretty much stuck with being known as Fauna.

What about Chloe?

CarmelBeach · 30/04/2021 22:46

@HandforthParishCouncilClerk

How about Fern or Willow? Not quite such strong dairy associations!
Um....
Clover and Flora

Margarine is nice too. I had a neighbour called Marge when I was a child and always assumed it was short for Margarine.
If you like dairy spread related names (very popular these days) then how about Pat?

The reactions you will receive will depend on where you live and your social circles. I’m shocked by the negative comments and think Clover is a lovely name and also think its’s fine with Flora. We’re in East London where this sort of name combo is common place.

foodtoorder · 30/04/2021 12:54

What about ferne? Goes nicely with flora.

Paspourmoi · 30/04/2021 12:34

I didn’t even think of butter, but just thought too floral! When DD did preschool ballet she was literally the only child in the class without a flower name (except for the child who had the same name as her, so I’m not claiming originality!). Violet, Poppy, Rose and Lily. My main association with Clover is What Katy Did, but it’s bit much with Flora...

Devlesko · 30/04/2021 12:29

What about Fern?

EweandI · 30/04/2021 12:29

I actually love it! The butter wouldn’t put me off!

ancientgran · 30/04/2021 12:28

If you have a red head you could go for Kerry Gold.

NicolaDunsire · 30/04/2021 12:27

And I don’t normally think siblings names have to ‘go’ together but this is just too much.

NicolaDunsire · 30/04/2021 12:26

Love them both but not together.

Edenember · 30/04/2021 12:22

Lovely separately, I don’t think you can use them together. Clover as a middle?

Happymum12345 · 29/04/2021 23:32

I adore the name Clover. Is this still used as a spread? If not, I would call my daughter this if I had a Flora already.

Pieceofpurplesky · 29/04/2021 23:01

Clodagh?

purplejungle · 29/04/2021 23:01

How about Ottilie (butterly)

ThankYouHunkyJesus · 29/04/2021 22:58

It's fine if you're naming a pair of calves.
