So we have a Clara, a Theo and stuck on new DS2. Our shortlist: Milo / Luca / Harry/ Raphael (Raffi) / Joseph / Dominic / Thom

We just can’t agree or settle on one! DS1 has the middle name Louis which I’d have LOVED as a first name but we can’t poach it.

Grateful for any thoughts

@MakingLifeBetter lovely choice ♥️

lovelsa · 30/04/2021 10:20

I think Henry/Harry and Thomas/Thom go best with the names you already have.

I don't feel like the other names on your list flow well with Clara and Theo.

brushlaptop · 30/04/2021 09:12

Great choice Louis is such a beautiful name

stellarfox · 28/04/2021 18:11

Great! You could always give your first son another middle name too if you wanted. A gift from his new brother 😆 Really hard to plan with names isn’t it as you don’t know how many of each gender you’ll have!

sarah13xx · 28/04/2021 17:51

Aww that’s lovely 😊 glad you’ve chosen! Love Louis and the fact Kate Middleton did it means it’s totally acceptable

MakingLifeBetter · 28/04/2021 14:27

We picked Louis Noel (second name after a dear friend no longer with us). Thank you so much, team - wouldn’t have known Louis was acceptable if it hadn’t been for you ❤️

Milo is too similar in sound to Theo.

I like Luca! Not keen on Harry, way too popular.

stellarfox · 27/04/2021 20:54

You could use Louis. One of Prince George's middle names is Louis and his brother is Louis!

TatianaBis · 27/04/2021 16:20

Raphael

Beetlewing · 27/04/2021 16:01

Joseph. Joe is such a good boys name

YoniAndGuy · 27/04/2021 15:44

Luca is the best from those - similar feel to the others. Short, but attractive.

Not Thom - it does look odd with Theo.

Edenember · 27/04/2021 15:37

I like Luca best and think it goes best with your other children’s names in terms of style and brevity, a different ending sound to both of them would be optimal though. Concur with other pps that there’s absolutely nothing wrong with using Louis though, I think it goes best out of everything and has a different ending.

octoberfarm · 27/04/2021 14:45

I adore Luca, and love Raphael. Joseph is also lovely! Congratulations!

MercyBodle · 27/04/2021 03:29

Though I love Milo I would cross it off since you already have Theo as I'm not keen on the 2 'o' endings. Miles would be good.

I love Raphael/Raffy, Harry and Dominic, and they'd work well. Raphael and Dominic have the advantage of being less used.

I'm not so keen on Luca and Joseph. I like Tom/Thomas but not sure about Thom.

Flymetothestars · 26/04/2021 23:12

How about Laurence nn Laurie ? Similar to Louis but less used

Saltnpepperr · 26/04/2021 23:05

I think Luca and Raffie (my fave) sound the best with Clara and Theo!
I like Milo and Thom but don’t think they sound right with Theo

Chilldonaldchill · 26/04/2021 22:35

Rafael /Raphael.

brushlaptop · 26/04/2021 22:07

I love Luca 🥰
Though you can def use Louis if it's your first sons middle name!

sarah13xx · 26/04/2021 22:03

Really like Milo!

Also like Raffi 😊 What about Jasper? It’s also a bit unusual but not too much

partyatthepalace · 26/04/2021 21:35

Clara and Theo are a lovely combination

I think I’d go for for Milo as it’s lovely and fits well. 2nd choice Thomas nn Thom. I don’t think Luca goes particularly - Lucas sounds better. Dominic and Raphael both a bit fussy compared to your other two. Joesph and Harry bit dull compared to your other two.

Other thoughts - Patrick, Rafe, Hugo, Francis, Nicholas (Nico), Casper, Max, Joshua, Nathaniel nn Nate, Silas

So we have a Clara, a Theo and stuck on new DS2. Our shortlist: Milo / Luca / Harry/ Raphael (Raffi) / Joseph / Dominic / Thom

daisypond · 26/04/2021 21:32

Definitely Dominic out of those.
Thomas (Thom would be unusual but fine as a short form)
Luca, Milo are a bit odd unless you’re Italian. Luke or Lucas and Miles are great.
Raphael is nice. Not sure how much it fits. Harry is OK. But Henry is better.

thecognoscenti · 26/04/2021 21:31

You absolutely can use Louis. Kate and William did, having already used it as one of George's middle names. No one outside your immediate family will have any idea of your older son's middle name. I say go for it.

Violetlavenders · 26/04/2021 21:25

I think Theo and Thom is a bit of a strange combo (hard to pinpoint why, I think it's because of the two different pronunciations of Th

I'd pronounce them Th-eo and Th-om!

WaitinginVain · 26/04/2021 20:26

I'm biased as I have a Milo and a Luca. Love Raphael too - was actually on list for DS1.

Bananagram99 · 26/04/2021 20:23

I think Luca goes really nicely with Clara and Theo.
