What does this name make people think of, is it a controversial choice? I it is pronounced ah-mon-deen.

Sorry but it reminds me of some tablets I was given for an ear infection, so it wouldn't be a name I would choose.

But like naming a kid Tiramisu, Limoncello or Brûlée.

No one will pronounce it like you want it pronounced if this child is to live outside of the European continent.

But your child will spend her whole life spelling her name and correcting pronunciation.

I don’t think it’s a controversial choice. I wouldn’t have thought there would be pronunciation issues but judging by this thread maybe there are. Not sure how people get ‘a man down’ though.

It makes me think of almonds. I agree unless you are in France, there may be pronunciation issues.
