What does this name make people think of, is it a controversial choice? I it is pronounced ah-mon-deen.

WowIlikereallyhateyou · 25/04/2021 16:46

I like it.

Beeeeeeeeeeeeeep · 25/04/2021 16:45

@Jessbow

If its pronounced Ah - Mon- Deen,

Why spell it

Ah-Man Deen

Amondine would make more sense

Because it's french
19thNamechange · 25/04/2021 16:45

Sorry but it reminds me of some tablets I was given for an ear infection, so it wouldn't be a name I would choose.

Bellyups · 25/04/2021 16:39

Makes me think of a medicine for some reason

thebestnamehere · 25/04/2021 16:38

How about Amadine? No N?

NameChangedForThisFeb21 · 25/04/2021 16:37

That’s the one AccidentallyOnPurpose

NameChangedForThisFeb21 · 25/04/2021 16:35

It’s a dessert isn’t it?!

But like naming a kid Tiramisu, Limoncello or Brûlée.

No one will pronounce it like you want it pronounced if this child is to live outside of the European continent.

Jessbow · 25/04/2021 16:35

If its pronounced Ah - Mon- Deen,

Why spell it

Ah-Man Deen

Amondine would make more sense

FelicityPike · 25/04/2021 16:34

I’m Scottish and it doesn’t sound like “a man down”.
It’s a fine name. Why is it controversial do you think @onitsukaPhilosykos77?

AccidentallyOnPurpose · 25/04/2021 16:34

These. Yummy. Grin

GintyMcGinty · 25/04/2021 16:31

Nice enough.

But your child will spend her whole life spelling her name and correcting pronunciation.

toastofthetown · 25/04/2021 16:30

I don’t think it’s a controversial choice. I wouldn’t have thought there would be pronunciation issues but judging by this thread maybe there are. Not sure how people get ‘a man down’ though.

allthegoodusernameshavegone · 25/04/2021 16:29

It’s

allthegoodusernameshavegone · 25/04/2021 16:28

It lovely

SardineJam · 25/04/2021 16:28

Very pretty name

annaboo2 · 25/04/2021 16:27

It makes me think of almonds. I agree unless you are in France, there may be pronunciation issues.

Amdone123 · 25/04/2021 16:24

Said with French pronunciation, beautiful. Otherwise, no.

MadMadMadamMim · 25/04/2021 16:21

It sounds like a semi-precious stone to me.

I don't really like it as a name.

Willdoitlater · 25/04/2021 16:18

Sounds like a brand of medication. Sorry.

Beeeeeeeeeeeeeep · 25/04/2021 16:16

Are you french?
If not, it won't sound lovely, but if you are it will

toolazytothinkofausername · 25/04/2021 16:16

A-man-dine

Sorry, not a fan.

Alfxn · 25/04/2021 16:14

To be honest when I saw the thread title on Active Topics I thought it was a typo for Amantadine, which is a painkilling drug, but probably not many people will make that connection!!

BettysCardigan · 25/04/2021 16:12

@giggly

Sorry in a Scottish accent that’s going to sound like “a man down”🥴
Um no it's isn't Confused
EileenGC · 25/04/2021 16:11

I think French.

katy1213 · 25/04/2021 16:11
