Alice. Daisy is too cutesy for me.

stupidstupider · 27/04/2021 22:22

Alice - I hate girls names all ending with 'a' or 'ee'

My Mom is Alice, my daughter is Daisy. Both beautiful names.

piglet81 · 27/04/2021 22:11

Alice by a mile - it’s my favourite name for a girl.

I have an Alice. She’s nearly 3 and quirky and funny but she’d totally suit Daisy too!

Edenember · 26/04/2021 14:29

Alice is lovely

Longdistance · 25/04/2021 03:34

I have an Alice and no one sings that song to her.
Daisy is a cows name.

Alice.

Daisy sounds a bit like the name of a cow.

notangelinajolie · 25/04/2021 03:12

Alice is a timeless classic (probably the most timeless/well used "English" name after Elizabeth, Maria and to a lesser extent Sarah and Catherine). You can't really go wrong with Alice - works on all ages and has a lot of historical and literary namesakes (so likely only a few people of a certain age will first think of the Chubby Brown song!).

Daisy is cute - but a lot of people will find it too cutesy or twee on adults (myself included, sorry). It was originally only really used as a nn for classic Margaret (from the French Marguerite, a type of Daisy) - it's mainly since the Victorians popularised flower names that it's been widely used as a given name (so is too "modern" feeling for me personally Grin).

Alice is lovely. It is timeless.

Daisy seems kind of lightweight. I think of it as a pet’s name.

Germolenequeen · 24/04/2021 22:45

Daisy by miles - another who thinks "Who the fuck is Alice" plus knew one who was a complete sociopath and nearly ruined my son's life 🤬

Tillygetsit · 24/04/2021 22:41

Alice.

CroydianSlip · 24/04/2021 22:08
