What bonkers names are your older DC keen on?

Our 3yo announced a little while ago that we should have another brown haired green eyed daughter called... Meecup. Sorry, sweetie, you're not on the naming committee!

When I was young I wanted a little sister called Jeid. Not Jade, Jeid.

If your older DC named their new sibling, what bizarre name would they choose?

Appollonie is the game of the Venus Blanche in Baudelaire's poetry. Perhaps PP's DD is an intellectual Grin

When we were having DS, DSS suggested Roger or Billy for a boy, and Amber or Samantha for a girl. We decided against.

When my sister was born apparently I was grumpy because my parents refused to go with my suggestion of Diana Classical - I was a big fan of the Royal Family as a child Blush

@Edenember

Appleonie. I have no idea.
Maybe they misheard the name Apollonia? It's quite an unusual name though, maybe they've been reading the Mumsnet Baby Name threads.

My DS constantly called my bump Pando (as of bing bunny) and we even started referring to bump as that.

I had to book a caravan holiday whilst pregnant and it asked for the names of all the party. Bump would have been born by then and as we didn't know what sex it would be we used Pando on the booking form. When we got there 6 months alter, the woman behind the desk was very relieved when I told her new Dd wasn't actually called Pando 😁

Dd1 wanted to call the new baby Paul or Gary whereas dd2 was convinced it would actually be a girl despite overwhelming evidence and wanted Tiffany.

I think they’ll be the the Eve’s, Izzy’s and Noah’s of their generation!

We went with Hugo Grin

Pyewackect · 20/04/2021 03:22

My oldest daughter is called Ophelia. Does that qualify ?.

CakesOfVersailles · 20/04/2021 03:15

Not my dd but 6yo friend's daughter was suggesting Ethan or Ruby for another friend's baby which seemed fine.

After much thought she then decided Ruby was too close to another kid's name and that Connor Glitter was a better name for a girl.

BertieBotts · 19/04/2021 22:48

DS2 2.5 completely refuses to suggest any names for current bump and refuses any we suggest to him :o

DS1 12 has no ideas either! Honestly! I mean what are the older siblings for??

HerMammy · 19/04/2021 22:48

My eldest DD suggested Glacier Sky for youngest DD 🤣 DD2 wanted Venus Tiger 🤣
None were used.

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 19/04/2021 22:46

My then toddler DD called her sister Baaby for a whole year.

KoshkaKills · 19/04/2021 22:27

Joshua. For either sex. Or maybe Sonic.

Bimblybomeyelash · 19/04/2021 22:23

My ds wants to change his own name to Dave.

imalmostthere · 19/04/2021 22:19

My daughter is absolutely set that she's having 3 dc, lily, rose and Daniel. None are bonkers but she's adamant it's happening!

Ilikecheeseontoast · 19/04/2021 22:10

Peeoneeie (she pronounces it Pee-oh-nee-ee. It's the name of her older sister apparently.
She doesn't have an older sister, only 2brotjers!

noscoobydoodle · 19/04/2021 22:05

soyabean · 19/04/2021 21:50

When I was nearly three and db1 was on the way I wanted the baby to be called Mrs Scott or Buy a flag.

UnicornPug · 19/04/2021 21:47

My eldest wanted to call her brother Baby Mouth. No idea why.

3babylady · 19/04/2021 16:21

5yo DS wants DD to be called any of these options; Sonic, Super Sonic, Or Eggman.

Eivor · 19/04/2021 16:21

When DD2 was named, then 8Yr old DD1 was very upset that we didn’t use her suggestion. She wanted to call her Duchess.

Booboobadoo · 19/04/2021 16:16

Chigerdeepoop Confused

LocalHobo · 19/04/2021 16:14

My surname begins with an M ... think Madeley. My eldest was desperate to call the newborn Milly Molly Madeley if it were female, as her favourite book at the time was Milly Molly Mandy.
I had a girl and we did compromise with a similarly sounding name combination which manages to sound less twee when nicknames aren't used.

MumBick7 · 19/04/2021 15:56

My 13 year old - likes blaze for a boy and tulip for a girl! Smile haven't asked the 5 year old twins as all of their belongings are names after my little ponies lol

ineedbanoffee · 19/04/2021 12:19

DD3 wants DD4, due in 2 weeks, to be called ‘Sparklehorn’.

CaptainSpirit · 19/04/2021 11:55

DD1 is 3 and her favourite boy's name is Lobby. Hmm
She also has two girl baby dolls that she's affectionately named Shrek and Chicken Nugget.

We're expecting our third baby now and DD1 will not be getting any input with her name. 🤦🏻‍♀️
