Can you help us decide out of these names, the middle name will be either Peter or Thomas.
Our surname begins with N.

Thank you x

I love Ben it's a classic can't go wrong name second would be Oscar I don't like Alex

withsexypantsandasausagedog · 18/04/2021 13:37

Alex!

VenusClapTrap · 18/04/2021 12:34

I know a Ben Nelson. He doesn’t have any issues with his first name running into his surname.

I like Peter the best of your names, but if that has to be a middle then I’d go for Oscar. I dislike Alex and Ben is a little dull.

Violetlavenders · 18/04/2021 11:53

I'm not keen on Oscar. Know one who goes by Ossie Hmm

Jelly4444 · 18/04/2021 09:43

Alexander Thomas
Benjamin Thomas

I'm not fond of Oscar. It reminds me of a cat too.

Kollamoolitumarellipawkyrollo · 18/04/2021 09:33

I love Ben and Alex. Not keen on Oscar and there are a lot where we live.

The only issue with Ben is your surname beginning with N so they’ll run into each other but still would choose this over Oscar.

IdblowJonSnow · 18/04/2021 09:30

I like Ben and then Alex.
Not keen on Oscar.

Alex

unchienandalusia · 18/04/2021 09:16

Benjamin Peter.

catwomanhatwoman · 18/04/2021 09:12

Oscar by a mile!

LozMarieFielder · 18/04/2021 09:08

I absolutely love Oscar! Alex is okay but so so so boring. Ben is just....Ben. I can’t really see it on someone older than 16.

Mysa74 · 18/04/2021 07:56

*cat, not car.

Mysa74 · 18/04/2021 07:54

@Purple139

Thanks everyone!

Our front runner was Oscar Thomas, but we had comments from family that it was a cats name.
Also love Ben/Benjamin just not sure it goes with our surname.
Forgot to say we already have a Liam, any other suggestions?

Funny you should say that, our car is called Oscar... I like Peter and Ben, Alex was on my girls list. Choosing names is exciting and scarey isn't it? [Grin]
Threelittlebirds1 · 18/04/2021 07:22

I love all 3. I have a Benjamin who was very nearly an Alexander. Oscar was vetoed by dh but it's one of my favourites, I really wouldn't worry about the cat comments!
Other suggestions:
Max
Finley/Finn
Toby
Theo
Patrick

Oscar is actually Irish. But I love that it's a really common name in Ireland and then also in various South American countries. Can't think of another name like that.

utican · 18/04/2021 00:17

Gonna add to my previous post that I love them all as they're all pretty international names too, especially Oscar which I love for being very Scando, Latin American, whichever way you want it really! Benjamin, Benedict etc has plenty of history to it, Alexander the same. I love the scope of them all.

Banville · 18/04/2021 00:10

Alex. I've always found it a pleasing name to say out loud.

sunflowertulip · 17/04/2021 23:46

We have a Ben(jamin) Thomas so that's my favourite! Alex is on my list if we were to have another boy. I'm not a fan of Oscar.

Tillygetsit · 17/04/2021 22:56

Oscar.

utican · 17/04/2021 20:39

My two boys have all of those names between them so I think they're all good :).

For DS1 we did register him Alexander, but soon after started using his middle name. It hasn't proved to be that much of a bother really.

Amelia666 · 17/04/2021 20:33

I love Oscar - also love Alex (but now personally dislike the Alexa speaker similarity 🤬)
Ben is also a great name, as indeed is Peter. So overall whichever way you go it’s sounding good!

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 17/04/2021 20:29

Ben/Benjamin runs into your surname initial a bit for me. Alex works but I much prefer the full Alexander (Alex is too unisex for me as a given name, though fine as a nn).

So despite it's trendiness I'd chose Oscar of the 3. I like Peter but I think Oscar Thomas N flows best (if I can't sell you on Alexander Thomas N!)

jellyfishinatent · 17/04/2021 14:51

Oscar Thomas

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 17/04/2021 14:49
