Hi, I'm new to Mumsnet (and am a Dad)

We have a little girl on the way and we like the names Annie (not a shortened version of anything) & Molly. My surname is Mason

What do people think? And are there any suggestions for other girls names that would go well with Mason

My niece is Molly Mason and she’s the cutest wee toddler, really suits her name.

partyatthepalace · 18/04/2021 15:58

Molly Mason is rather fab
I like Annie but not as a full name

Margot, Cleo, Nancy, Polly, Frances nn Frankie, Sadie (poss as nn for Sarah)... I’d probably go for Molly though.

Banville · 17/04/2021 20:19

I really love Annie and Molly. Great choices.

I like both but think Molly goes better with your surname

CaffiSaliMali · 16/04/2021 10:15

Annie for me, my great grandmother was Annie Mason.

Molly is nice too but I'm not a huge fan of alliterative names.

I love the name Annie but I think Molly goes better with your surname

Redskyyy · 15/04/2021 19:10

Molly Mason sounds fab! I wouldn’t go for Annie Mason as it sounds like animation (but love the name, I have an 11 month old Annie!)

MMM2 · 15/04/2021 19:09

Martha Mason?

pigglepot · 15/04/2021 19:09

Love them both! I dont hear animation or know what the MM thing you're referring to is either so I think either would be lovely!

AnyaMoondial · 15/04/2021 19:07

Molly Mason sounds good to me.

Matilda Mason sounds good too.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 15/04/2021 18:57

Well I have a Molly so I’m bias and Molly Mason sounds fab. I think. a lot of names will go with the surname Mason.

Chloe Mason
Sophie Mason
Lily Mason
Olivia Mason
Ellie Mason
Zoe Mason

Some really good thoughts here - I love the name Ada, it would actually be my first choice, but my partner is not so keen. Clara is lovely, not one that I had thought of...... Edie is on our list (maybe with Edith as given name), we do like retro names so any other suggestions welcome!

We are not totally set on the 'ie' endings.... 'a' endings go well with Mason too - or so we thought with our son Oscar Mason

I really like Molly but it sounds quite cutesy and young to me whereas Zara sounds more grown up - not sure if that is any help!

LoveSleeping · 15/04/2021 18:19

I like both Annie and Mollie

If it's the 'ie' ending you like how about

Tansy
Naomi
Polly
Edie
Sadie
Hattie
Lottie
Callie
Zoe

GintyMcGinty · 15/04/2021 18:15

I like Anne but not Annie.
Mollie is great but I prefer it with an i.e.

Both are good names.

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 15/04/2021 18:07

Zara sounds lovely and works well will your surname imo. Molly and Annie don't work as well to me with Mason and sound a bit cutesy. Molly and Annie also feel a bit retro so maybe Clara or Ada would suit you instead? Or Edie if you love the "ee" ending?

FASDE1517 · 15/04/2021 17:42

I love both names but not sure about Annie with your surname. Molly is great, I love alliterative names

Troyhelena · 15/04/2021 17:14

Molly Mason sounds best but I prefer Annie by a country mile.
Molly to me is a bit dated
