Names similar to Madeline/Madeleine

I like Madeline but dislike Maddie. Are there any names that sound similar that wouldn’t get shortened?

The only similar names which don’t have an obvious shortened form I can think of are Aveline (which I love - it’s on my list), Evangeline, Ottoline. There’ll be more.
Most names that sound similar are most likely going to get shortened whether you like it or not, so it’s more about finding ones where you’re happy with the shortened form.

Other options - Adelaide, Clementine, Adeline.

When you say similar do you mean names beginning with M, french names or the same amount of syllables?

Almost any name can be shortened, op.
Except mine ‘Clare.’ You maybe want to consider that,However she may not Thankyou for giving her name without a more friendly alternative.
