All the Alices I have known have also been crazy! Grin

PurpleFlower1983 · 09/04/2021 06:23

Matilda - we have a 2 year old Matilda nn Tilda.

TempsPerdu · 08/04/2021 18:36

Alice. Much less faddy.

I tend to prefer less common names and normally I’d plump for the more unusual choice, but Matilda has soared in popularity in recent years, and is likely to fall from favour and date much quicker than Alice.

MonkeyPuddle · 08/04/2021 18:34

I have a Matilda, we call her Tilda. Since having her last year every other child I meet is called Matilda. Met a very nice bulldog called Matilda last week as well.

Alice is quite popular and makes me think of Alice Tinker from the Vicar of Dibley.

Matilda makes me think of the house robot on Robot Wars unfortunately, as much as I try to focus on the Roald Dahl character!

TatianaBis · 08/04/2021 18:26

Matilda.

midsomermurderess · 08/04/2021 16:41

Alice. It is timeless, and immune to fashion and fads. I think its rather elegant. I don't mind Matilda but I don't like shortenings like Tilly etc.

Sprockerdilerock · 08/04/2021 16:15

Alice. Classy and timeless Smile

iammeiamme · 08/04/2021 14:59

Matilda hands down.

Kanaloa · 08/04/2021 14:15

Matilda. I don’t like Alice. The Matilda I know is called Tilda which is nice.

OloBo · 08/04/2021 12:57

2 of my favourites!

babynamelover · 08/04/2021 10:23

Alice for Wonderland.

Edenember · 08/04/2021 10:10

Alice for the same reasons as everyone else.

KirstenBlest · 08/04/2021 10:06

Alice. Matilda is nice but overuse has taken the edge off it.

Leytonladee · 08/04/2021 10:04

Matilda. It's got more balls.

ImmyTTC · 07/04/2021 22:44

These were the two my mum was caught between with my sister! She decided on Matilda, with every intention of shortening to Tilly, but my sister turned out to be a bit strong and rambunctious for Tilly and ended up being Mattie instead. It couldn’t have suited her more ❤️

3CCC · 07/04/2021 21:53

Alice

It's a classic

Lollypop4 · 07/04/2021 21:53

Alice .
My DD has the middle name 'Alys' its the Welsh spelling (Pronounced same tjough)
I love the name

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 07/04/2021 21:47

Alice - pretty, very classic and timeless so would be my choice. While Matilda has a nice strength to it, it is much more subject to the whims of fashion.

Bruce2 · 07/04/2021 21:12

Alice.

Matilda lovely too but very popular right now. We were between Matilda and Tabitha but having heard how popular they've become (or have been in past few years) we're thinking something more timeless now too

TheSpanishApartment · 07/04/2021 20:59

Alice. I know a couple of young Matildas and I don’t like one of them!

Frazzled2207 · 07/04/2021 20:40

Like both but Alice is timeless. Matilda/Tilly seem very trendy. Likely to be a few in their class at school.

AnyaMoondial · 07/04/2021 20:37

Matilda

MalagaNights · 07/04/2021 20:11

Cross posted with Croydian, but basically saying the same!!

itsgettingwierd · 07/04/2021 20:11
