Which do you like? Or what other ideas do you have? (Nothing that ends in ia e.g. Sofia Lucia etc)

Boys:
Mateo
Oscar

Girls:
Gabriela
Clara
Claudia (exception to ia rule, seems to work with surname better for some reason)
Mireia
Emilia

I actually quite like Javier... but spelt this way rather than with an X. I also like Noemi but husband isnt keen. Not so keen on Camila or Selena. I love Claudia but fear she will spend her whole life making people pronounce it the Spanish way. I really dont like the english pronunciation and have a weird dislike for Claudia Winkleman. I dont want her associated with my child!!
The name Paloma may have a meaning of dove and I am sure your friend is a lovely person but I assure you, the word paloma most definitely means pigeon!!!

Hmmm not a fan of either but thanks. Esp because paloma means pigeon
I know a Paloma who is a beautiful person. It means Dove rather than a pigeon though.

I like:
Mercedes
Nuria
Ximena

Mireia is just gorgeous - a lovely sound and my favourite Spanish name. The beautiful Claudia comes very close though, and I think it is much more well used internationally if that matters. Gabriela is okay, but Emilia and Clara are a bit more trendy for me, even though they are nice names. Do you like Camila or Selena, they are some of my other hispanic influenced favorites? (and Antonia, but you said no -ia!)

My fave Spanish boys name is Xavier, but your choice of cool international Mateo comes close (but there is nothing especially wrong with Oscar - it's just is quite trendy/popular in the UK). I also like Diego and Santiago, but I'm not sure what kind of image they have in Spain. Valentin is also quite international?

@Easteregghunt1

We already have a daughter called Alba! And for that reason Alvaro is also out. I love the name and to me they are different names, but to my Spanish husband they sound way too similar! I quite like a lot of the Basque names but worry about English pronounciation. I know a 6 year old Itziar and she always corrects me on her name haha. I really like Nina, Ainhoa... really struggling this time around as whilst I like lots of names I dont think I LOVE any of them?!
If it helps my name is Basque, so is my sons (it ends with -tz which is a really common thing in the Basque language) and British people pronounce their name really well.

Alba is very popular here as as well as being a Spanish name it's also the garlic word for Scotland

Ararceli Is such a lovely and underused name i think.

Big fan for Francisco and Fran.

We already have one child named one of these names, and a cat named another! And some family members named other names although I do like them... things like Alma, Amaia, Ana, Rocio etc... so they are no goes. I really like Elena but husband doesnt. I like Ainara and Nora too. Might see what my husband thinks of those. Any more ideas most welcome!

I went to school with a girl called Estrella Cazador, which translates as Star Hunter (Cazador was her surname). I always thought it was poetic. She went by the nickname Star in school.
