Middle names alluding to or including robin/Robyn

This might sound daft. Looking for a female middle name that might incorporate robins (the bird) as a tribute to some family.

Not keen on robina/robin eye and open to it being non English.

Thanks

Blue - the colour of their eggs.

Thinking outside the box:

Marian (as in Maid)?
Or
Christina (as in female version of Christopher)?

ILoveShula · 08/04/2021 20:41

@KoalaOok, and it means pigeon.

KoalaOok · 08/04/2021 19:49

Raven
Jay

KoalaOok · 08/04/2021 19:48

Paloma means Dove

prettypinkflamingo · 08/04/2021 19:46

I like the idea of another bird name to link in with Robyn/Robin and love Wren

DalPalak · 08/04/2021 19:39

Robins are Zaryanki in Russian (singular is Zaryanka). The name comes from the word for sunrise.

KirstenBlest · 08/04/2021 11:28

Batgirl?

WiganNorthWest · 08/04/2021 11:27

Batman?

Or Wren

Bimblybomeyelash · 08/04/2021 11:25

Birdie.
Bobbie.

KirstenBlest · 08/04/2021 11:25

It would be used more about a bloke, and would suggest he was a bit of a player or just downright unreliable.

Dic Deryn was a Pobol y Cwm character.

It amazes me that anyone would want to call their child Bird, but what do I know.

FontyMcFontface · 08/04/2021 11:19

KirstenBlest I know two Aderyns and a Deryn. Never heard that expression but can see the meaning when you say it.

KirstenBlest · 08/04/2021 07:56

@FontyMcFontface

Aderyn or Deryn (pn Derrin) means bird in Welsh.
Aderyn is also used to describe someone. 'Tipyn o aderyn' (a bit of a bird) means 'a bit flighty'.

Not suitable as a name.

How about Oiseau, Vogel or Lintu?

CakesOfVersailles · 08/04/2021 07:56

Roberta I mean. As the name Robin came from Robert.

CakesOfVersailles · 08/04/2021 07:55

Robert I guess.

But if it is tribute to family just use Robin/Robyn I say.

FontyMcFontface · 08/04/2021 07:50

Or go for another bird name... Linnet etc?

FontyMcFontface · 08/04/2021 07:50

Aderyn or Deryn (pn Derrin) means bird in Welsh.

KoalaOok · 07/04/2021 10:17

Wren?

ILoveShula · 07/04/2021 10:15

Ruby?

ILoveShula · 07/04/2021 10:13

Merle is blackbird in French

Foxhasbigsocks · 05/04/2021 23:44

Roberta is also the name of the heroine in the Railway Children which is a lovely connection

ZoyaTheDestroyer · 05/04/2021 22:10

Depending on how tenuous a connection you could cope with:

Robin is a diminutive for Robert, so Roberta?

Alternatively, the Italian for robin is pettirosso, which you could feminise to Pettirossa.

optimistic40 · 05/04/2021 21:27

Oops I missed the Robina reference. I don't know other Robin names!

PandaFluff · 05/04/2021 21:07

Rohanna

Foxhasbigsocks · 05/04/2021 21:06

Or you could go for names that mean red or are associated with red, like the robin? Eg

Cherry
Scarlet

Etc
