My son is Frank after our great great grandad, great grandad and grandad. Hence old family name.

Sister is adamant on Frankie for her boy. Would you mind? It does not bother me but people have commented saying it is too similar

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

3 of my cousins, who are siblings, each named one of their sons after my dad. It's never been an issue aside from clarifying which one we're talking about occasionally. Personally, I wouldn't give my child the same name as my sibling's child, but to each their own I suppose.

If it doesn't bother you, don't let it start bothering you!

You are sibings so have the same great great / great / grandad, no problem wanting to honour the same family members

If it helps I much prefer Frank to Frankie Grin

It is very similar but if it doesn't bother you then it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks

TheRedFox · 05/04/2021 20:00

To me it is essentially the same name and given they are going to be cousins, I wouldn't do it (if I were your sister).

If it doesn't bother you, why does it matter what these others think?

Anoisagusaris · 05/04/2021 19:59

It’s not just similar, it’s basically the same name.
