I absolutely love this name, but its gotten very mixed reactions from others so I wanted to know what everyone on here thinks Smile

Perfect for a rabbit. Best kept for a nickname for a human.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 06/04/2021 22:21

We used to have guinea pigs called Pippin and Popsy when I was a child.

AnnaSW1 · 06/04/2021 22:19

It makes me think it's what you'd name a pet

PattyPan · 06/04/2021 22:17

Nice name for a horse or dog. Not for a human. Philip nn Pip?

CHISistoast · 06/04/2021 22:16

Go for Pip, as in from Great Expectations.

Giraffey1 · 06/04/2021 22:14

It’s a name I associate with rabbits, animals in general and a hobbit. Never with a human being.

MyLifeNow20 · 06/04/2021 22:12

my pony is called Pipkin! bit different to pippin though

NotATomato · 06/04/2021 22:01

It’s a name for a horse not a human.

IndecentFeminist · 05/04/2021 20:39

That's a pony.

GoryGilmore · 05/04/2021 20:15

I had a rabbit called Pippin! Sweet name for an animal, not so much a child.

Thedogscollar · 05/04/2021 20:14

Truly awful.

TuvoknotSpock · 05/04/2021 20:11

Love it but wasn't brave enough to use

BigMamaFratelli · 05/04/2021 19:38

Makes me think of a naughty pony. Probably a fat little Shetland.

NoLactose · 05/04/2021 19:34

No. Just no.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 05/04/2021 19:13

@ADragonCalledKeith

I have a friend of a friend, 43ish yo guy called Pip. I assumed it was a nickname when I met him and his parents were LOTR fans, but nope! I really like it and it suits him too.
Pip is an established name for both men and women, starting as a short version of Philip/Philippa. Pippin isn't. Please don't inflict it on your child.
Constance11 · 05/04/2021 19:03

It's an awful name to give as a formal name, but great as a nickname.

midsomermurderess · 05/04/2021 17:43

I think it would be sweet for a Philip. switching maybe to Pip as they get older.

SpeedRunParent · 05/04/2021 17:29

Runway
😂😂😂
Balonz. Wondered when that'd pop up. 😂

SpeedRunParent · 05/04/2021 17:26

Sounds like a rabbit.

Cushionsnotpillows · 05/04/2021 17:24

I know three small yappy dogs near me called Pippin or Pip.

For the love of all things sane, do not call your child, who one day will be an adult trying to make their way in the world, this dog name.

2021mumma · 05/04/2021 17:24

The dog from “come outside”

joystir59 · 05/04/2021 17:21

Just awful.

pigglepot · 05/04/2021 17:16

Don't think it works as a name to be honest!

How about Crispin instead? It feels sort of the same to me but is a bit more of a serious name and works for a boy and a man...?

Roszie · 05/04/2021 17:03

It's awful.

Mamamamasaurus · 05/04/2021 16:59

I'd call an animal Pippin. Not a human.
