Or....just to add a spanner in the works....what about Daphine? My children's great grandmother had that name.

Was meant to be Daphne, but when her Dad went to register her birth he was in quite a state after witnessing the dramatic birth and he spelt it wrong!

REALLY don't want to be critical, but surely the character in Cold Comfort Farm was Elfine???
But they have a very similar vibe.

Delphine is ok. Daphne is one of the ugliest names around.

Delphine is nice enough. I've never liked the sound of Daphne though, sorry (can't get past the Daffy/Daft part), plus I suspect it is now going to become more trendy (thanks to Bridgerton and celebs naming their babies Daphne).

Susie Verill has just called their baby Daphne.

I love the name Delphine. I've only ever known one and she was really cool. 😊
