Em-in-ay because I taught one once. Lovely girl so a lovely name to me.

AccidentallyOnPurpose · 04/04/2021 20:12

Ehmeenay but I have an acquaintance whose DD has that name and that'show I know it.

PattyPan · 04/04/2021 20:06

Eh-meen (short e for the first syllable like in egg)

ColonelPine · 04/04/2021 20:06

Ehmeen

X posts. As a new brand name with a (presumably) mainly UK market I think it would cause a world of confusion, tbh. When it's an individual it's different - they can advise on how they're pronounced. With a new brand a lot of people are going to read and never hear it.

MitheringSunday · 04/04/2021 20:03

Yes, it's Turkish, I think. For me it would be somewhere between Eh-meen-uh and Eh-meen-ay.

tier4tears · 04/04/2021 18:05

Em-in-nay

Only know as it’s the name of a Turkish friend. When she lived in this country, lots of people guessed Em-meen

PassMeTheWotsits · 04/04/2021 10:58

M in

pickaxer · 03/04/2021 15:31

It doesn't look as feminine as it could as Emine, but If people say E mine it's not terrible .. I prefer it written Eminay or Eminey I feel the y could create something lovely for your logo like the tail could be a burst of tiny stars or hearts .. or something flowing script.

chilliplant634 · 03/04/2021 11:16

As pp have suggested the correct pronunciation is eh-meen-ay.

The reason I asked was because I wanted to gauge opinion on how it would be perceived or pronounced by others. I am setting up a jewellery brand and I am considering this name. To me it sounds feminine but still a little different. But I appreciate that other people may have a different view.

Is it Em mine ie ... but like hermony ?

KirstenBlest · 03/04/2021 10:58

As pp, ask if you are not sure.

KirstenBlest · 03/04/2021 10:57

Em-een

SmeleanorSmellstrop · 03/04/2021 06:51

Eh- meen

WitchesBritchesPumpkinPants · 03/04/2021 03:05

No, don't use it as a business name. It's too frustrating having to correct people & if people feel silly, they'll go elsewhere. It won't be memorable for the right reasons.

Lollypop4 · 02/04/2021 23:56

E-mine

Eh-mean-uh

Eh as in Emma, mean as in someone who is nasty, uh as in the first letter of up.

LawnFever · 02/04/2021 23:27

I’ve never come across this name but I’d guess Em-i-nee with the i pronounced like in Emily

Sarcobaleno · 02/04/2021 23:26

Guessing... Eh-meen

BEANBAG765 · 02/04/2021 23:23
