What do you think of following for baby girl? My SO thinks they are all fine, but refuse to pinpoint his favorite. I prefer Cordelia, but worry Rosabelle or Rosamund might be better choices

Isabella
Cordelia
Rosabelle
Rosamund
Emmeline

middle name is planned to be Thisbe, Giselle, Bridget or Esther, whatever sounds right with first name.

I like Cordelia, love Cora but I really dislike Delia so would hate it if it was shortened to that in school. I rem a school mate's Mum coming into address class (we were abt 7/8) to insist her daughter's name was Eliza and not to use Lizzie as it was NOT her name. I rem at that age thinking she shouldn't have named her that if she didn't like the possible variations.

Emmeline is very nice also...

I don't like Rosabelle, Rosamund is just ok.
.
Not on your list ....but i love Rosalind.
I also very much like Adeline, Ottilie

I don't like Esther at all, I never have. I don't know why. i do like Essie. Bridget is ok but feels elderly to me.

Thisbe is different...greek mythology & a constellation (I think).

You'll know what fits when you see her.... best of luck to you.

I love Cordelia and the fact there are so many nicknames you can use: Cora, Cordi, Coco, Delia, Dee, Lia etc :)

amallierory · 02/04/2021 08:05

I LOVE Rosabelle! I can't understand why it's not more popular.

VenusClapTrap · 02/04/2021 07:52

Love all your middle names, especially Giselle. I’d have one of those as the first name.

I like Rosamund, but dislike the others on your first name list.

CakesOfVersailles · 02/04/2021 01:21

I really like Isabella, Emmeline and Rosamund. I quite like Cordelia. Rosabelle is a little too frilly for my tastes but I don't mind it really.

Have you considered Rosalie?

LadyWithLapdog · 02/04/2021 01:06

I like Isabelle and Rosabelle most but the others are ok too.

SmeleanorSmellstrop · 02/04/2021 00:55

I only like Emmeline and Esther but not sure if they go. Strongly dislike Thisbe!

KirstenBlest · 01/04/2021 22:53

@bruce2, not Didi ffs

Ijustlikedthename · 01/04/2021 22:08

Love Cordelia Thisbe

PandaFluff · 01/04/2021 21:28

Isabella or Cordelia for me I don't like the others.
Esther is a great name. You could use it as a first name with any of your list as a second name.

PenguinBarnotBird · 01/04/2021 20:27

Love Rosalind as per pp

PolarnOPirate · 01/04/2021 20:23

Isabella - nice but common
Cordelia - love
Rosabelle - frilly
Rosamund - stuffy
Emmeline - stuffy

What about Rosemara? I knew a fab one!

Love Giselle and Esther too.

Bruce2 · 01/04/2021 20:20

Cordelia (Didi as a nn maybe?)
Emmeline (Emmy?)

The rest are perfectly ok too, just a bit too frilly for me especially Rosabelle

Giselle a lovely middle name

Fembot123 · 01/04/2021 19:56

Emmeline is lovely

wishing3 · 01/04/2021 19:55

I’m afraid I’m not personally keen on Rosabelle but love all of the others.

TatianaBis · 01/04/2021 19:55

Prefer Rosalind and Rosalie to Rosamund.
Isabella is v popular and Izzy is not a nice and Bella is everywhere.

Love Giselle, after the ballet.

Thisbe is just too rude mechanical comedy for me.

Quercus3 · 01/04/2021 19:40

Cordelia and Rosamund are wonderful names

AnyaMoondial · 01/04/2021 17:33

My favourite is Rosamund. It’s such a strong name. Cordelia and Emmeline are also really good.

GertrudeTheGreat · 01/04/2021 17:21

I love Cordelia and Emmeline

HarkAVagrant · 01/04/2021 17:08

Love Cordelia. Love Rosamund.
Rosa belle definitely too frilly. Emmeline I’m not massively keen o but don’t have strong feelings either way
I don’t know how I feel about Isabella because I know so many of them, its become like wallpaper to me.

ILoveShula · 01/04/2021 17:04

I prefer Rosalind to Rosamund, but both are nice, as is Cordelia.

Isabella is lovely but has been overused.

Rosabelle is too frilly, and Emmeline is a plainer form of Emily.

ThatsNotTheTeaHunty · 01/04/2021 16:49

Isabella is the only okay one for me. The others seem a bit too try hard. I'd also worry Thisbe sounds like frisbee too.

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 01/04/2021 16:45

Oh and all three of your middles are fine imo, but I especially love Thisbe. Cordelia Thisbe would be very Shakespearean and elegant sounding.

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 01/04/2021 16:43

Not keen on Rosabelle - sounds a bit of a mash -up/invented and slightly frilly. Isabella is fine, but a bit dull/popular compared to your other choices.

Cordelia, Emmeline and Rosamund are gorgeous. I suspect though they will get shortened - so I'd pick based on which nn you prefer Cora/Cordy, Emmie or Roz (so for me I think it would be Cordelia, 2nd choice Emmeline as I'm less keen on Roz.)

florascotia2 · 01/04/2021 15:51

I prefer Rosamund to Rosabelle, it sounds more elegant and grown up. Rosabelle makes me think of a doll's name from my childhood, but I might be misremembering.
Cordelia really nice also; Isabella is fine but has been very, very popular.

I LOVE Thisbe. It goes well with Cordelia and Rosamund - but combined with Isabella, there are rather too many 'is' sounds.
