Too many princess names?

We have an older daughter (6) called Arabella and are expecting twins any day now really. We are struggling so much on their names and had settled on Audrey & Quinn but are now considering Aurora to replace one of those two names.
But, my question is, is having Aurora and Arabella(Belle) too many princess names / does it sound like we spend all our time watching Disney+?!

I don't watch Disney so the link wouldn't occur to me.

Belle in La Belle et La Bete has nothing to do with Arabella.

Quinn is ok as a name but she rather gets the short straw compared to Arabella/Audrey/Aurora.

ThePricklySheep · 01/04/2021 11:53

Quinn for a girl is the tricky bit. Isn’t it a boy’s name?

GiggleMcdimples21 · 01/04/2021 11:52

I think you handled that thread like a pro! If Quinn is your most favourite name of all time and means so much to you, you should definitely use it! You won't be in the UK forever, and people here will get over it, it's not an offensive name by any means! Quinn goes well with Audrey IMO. If you weren't to use Quinn, what would be the alternative? Stick with the choices that make you happy, try to put your worries to rest Smile

Quinn is a beautiful name. I commented on your last post but I know 2 Quinn’s (m&F) and to my knowledge no ones ever been awful about their names. I wouldn’t take some
Of the responses you get here to heart.

My DS2 has a very popular name top for year. On here when it’s suggested your told oh why don’t you just call your child sheep or name+number as their will be so many in his class

Yet to meet another one his age at any of our play groups but loads of multiple unusual names because everyone was trying so hard to avoid a common name!

You’re never going to please everyone but you should go with a name you love! Not a name to appease ransoms on the net

Ihopeyourcakeisshit · 01/04/2021 11:52

I quite like Aurora, I didn't see your other thread but I like Quinn too!
I wouldn't worry about the whole UK/US thing, don't change what you love for such a short term thing.
My dd has an 'American type' boys name which raised a couple of eyebrows when she was born, but I don't give a hoot and nobody ever comments now.

legalseagull · 01/04/2021 11:51

I love Audrey and Quinn. Especially Quinn. I'm in the U.K. and considered it for my DD. I also considered Quinton for DS.
Sorry but I hate Aurora. To me it's like calling your child Snow White.

mammmamia · 01/04/2021 11:48

Actually tbh I don’t think that matters, I think you should go with it!

mammmamia · 01/04/2021 11:48

I really like Quinn but do you think it’s a bit weird that she’ll be a twin but called Quinn... a quin is short for quintuplet ...

mammmamia · 01/04/2021 11:46

Audrey and Quinn are really nice strong names. Not keen on Aurora at all and yes I do think that combined with Arabella sounds a bit Disney, and then Quinn really doesn’t fit. Go with your original choices!

twinmama2021 · 01/04/2021 11:44

Yes! That’s us!
Quinn is quite possibly my favourite name of all time but (and perhaps this is my fragile pregnancy brain feeling overwhelmed) I can’t stop thinking about all the negative and at times, really unkind comments about the name Quinn and I just don’t want to set my baby girl up for life with a name that doesn’t go over well in the U.K. If we were in the US I wouldn’t be wavering at all but as we’ll be in the U.K. for the next 3 years at least, or until OH is transferred back to NYC, I’m just feeling a little worried :(

Audrey is much nicer than Aurora imo.

Quinn is nice too. I'd stick with those.

otterbaby · 01/04/2021 11:39

I definitely prefer Audrey over Aurora.

Violetlavenders · 01/04/2021 11:39

Arabella, Aurora and Audrey are all beautiful feminine names that go perfectly well together!

Quinn is a boys name (I know it's also used for girls but it's much more popular for boys) and sounds harsh and unfeminine. Like Finn or Flynn!

FeelLike · 01/04/2021 11:36

I prefer Audrey and Quinn.

They all go together nicely IMO.

Arabella, Aurora and Quinn is more of a mouthful?

GiggleMcdimples21 · 01/04/2021 11:27

Hi Op,

Are you the same twin mama who is originally from America and will be relocating back to NYC? If so, I remember from your previous thread that Quinn was the non-negotiable name. I prefer the classic Audrey over Aurora, however Aurora does 'go' with Arabella. I guess the drawback is you don't want Quinn to grow up wishing she also had a Princess name Smile
