Like Covid Marshalls?

That’s the first thing that springs to mind and so I’m not at all keen. Then Marshall Mathers. And then this is more “niche” but there’s a big cheap clothing chain in the US called Marshalls so it seems a bit like calling your kid Matalan to me. But obviously wouldn’t be an issue if UK based.

Also, it is a current job / activity. Unlike Archer, Fletcher, Carter or Cooper. He could end up being 'Marshall Marshall'.

I've just realized how out of touch I am.
I made no connection with Eminem and Marshall until everyone else mentioned it.

Marshall is the name of the character in "How I Met Your Mother".

Stevearnottsbeard · 27/03/2021 21:17

Mathers ie Eminem 😍

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 27/03/2021 19:31

Prefer similar Mitchell if you want to do the "surname as given name" thing - like pp Marshall does remind me of Eminem/is more US sounding to me.

DrDetriment · 27/03/2021 19:26

Eminem. I wouldn't.

Wolfiefan · 27/03/2021 19:25

Paw patrol.
No.

Noodlesnoodlesnoodles · 27/03/2021 19:22

Nope. Reminds me of Eminem, the Michelin man and marshmallows... that may just be me though!

mathanxiety · 27/03/2021 19:19

It's nice imo.

It has a nicer sound than other surname names (thinking of beauties like Parker, Carter).

I know one who was named after Eminem - but the name sounds very solid, very Marshall Plan (the brainchild of US General George Marshall). He's a lovely boy.

Vallmo47 · 27/03/2021 19:16

Definitely paw patrol 💗

Zarinea · 27/03/2021 19:15

Not good.

Kanaloa · 27/03/2021 19:15

It’s not horrible but not my taste. It reminds me of Eminem and Paw Patrol.

lottiegarbanzo · 27/03/2021 19:15

Paw Patrol

TheLifeAndDeathBrigade · 27/03/2021 19:14

Oh, and also, Paw Patrol Blush

TheLifeAndDeathBrigade · 27/03/2021 19:13

It's quite surnamey, and quite American to my ears. But it's inoffensive, if you like it, go for it.
