Due a baby girl in may and stuck for baby names

Hi I'm new here! I a little boy who is two and I am expecting a little girl in May. His name is Othello (Otto is his nickname) and me and my husband have no idea for baby girls name. We liked Sailor and Violet. We also love the name Gemma but is that too "basic" for lack of another word after calling our son Othello?

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

@EvelynBeatrice

The names don’t need to match. The siblings will have more life to live apart than together. That said, Violet seems to go with Otto. Don’t like Sailor. Too much likelihood of bullying and can’t see say a High Court judge rejoicing in name of Sailor. Bit too much like Woody Allen’s child ‘Satchel’ for my taste. But you know it’s your kid, your choice. People like a name because of the person. Do you think Gemma will work as an adult? My Scottish friend called her daughter Kirsten which is lovely and also sounds nice with Otto; also a bit (but not too) different. Or maybe some other Shakespearean or classic name? Daphne, Adriana, Rosalind, Bianca, Cordelia?
I love that classic names. I agree with Sailor that it is quite unusual so maybe for a middle name. I love the name Cordelia that one is on our list and I like Rosalind. Thank you so much for the suggestions!

Flora. It is a beautiful name.

@SnoozyBoozy

Jemima to follow the 'gem' sound?

Violet is really nice, not keen on Sailor at all. I knew one Sailor and it was a boy.

What about Scarlett?

I like Jemima someone else suggested that as well and it's growing on me and I do love the nickname gem/jem and it matches more with our sons name. Thank You! Smile

@LouNatics

Other ideas I think might fit

Delilah, Elodie, Athena, Jemima

We loved Athena with our first, I'll definitely have to bring that one up again and I like the name Delilah as well but I know too many! Smile

I’m not sure Gemma and Othello go together, no. It’s not a given that sibling names have to go together though.

Perhaps Genevieve? That somehow matches better.

We hadn't ever thought of Genevieve but I really like that, thank you!
