Names for a red haired boy with an impish look?

Just for fun :) although there is a real baby, it's not the only idea!

DH and I struggling to think of a name for DS3 (!) it took us months and months to come up with DS2's name!

DS2 has pale colouring with red hair and freckles, and cute impish/elfy kind of features. DH has ridiculously strong genes so I suspect the same again. (DS1 has a different dad).

This is an avenue we haven't yet looked down in terms of naming themes and we are both fussy! So hit us with them.

I know a boy whose looks are very similar to your description and he's a Fergus, it totally suits him.

TheVolturi · 23/03/2021 12:25

He sounds so cute op!

Roan means little red head and is a bit more unusual than Rufus and Rory but along the same lines.

I knew a boy who looked just like this when I was little, he was called Robin and it suited him perfectly.

Rufus

What is DS1's name - you said it was possibly too close to Rory? I'm guessing Riley?

MessAllOver · 23/03/2021 12:14

@BertieBotts. I read "impish" as being cute. At least, the thought of an impish little boy didn't fill me with horror Grin.

I wouldn't pick Rory but that's because I suffer from rhotacism. Otherwise, it's a nice name.

BurningBright · 23/03/2021 12:11

Ooh, random question mark! Sorry.

But still Rowan.

BurningBright · 23/03/2021 12:10

You know, I had discounted Rory but it's actually growing on me.

Oh I thought impish was cute? :o I mean he could be a little Christmas elf or an imp or fairy child.

Google says impish means "inclined to do slightly naughty things for fun; mischievous" - yep, exactly what I was going for! As well as slightly pointed/turned up features. I think it's cute anyway!

Rory was my first thought, obviously not an original one!

Wbeezer · 23/03/2021 11:51

I had Rory ready as a name for DS3, since it means red haired and his two older brothers are both redheads but he came out mousy so i made it his middle name and then struggled to come up with another choice (he thinks the one i chose is boring and prefers Rory!)
