Bruce?

What does MN think?

Can't decide if baby Bruce is cute or crazy.

My immediate go to was Springsteen (cool), DH's was Batman (also cool), and then we thought of Forsythe.... 😂🙈

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
livinlavida2021 · 23/03/2021 09:01

Horrid sorry

itsme1978 · 23/03/2021 09:01

@ThatsNotTheTeaHunty of course it's ok to say you dislike something , but I wouldn't say it's horrid .......I think it's mean, if you don't care then lucky you

ThatsNotTheTeaHunty · 23/03/2021 09:01

Yes because I was the only person on this thread to say it was horrid. Give over Grin.

Frazzledd · 23/03/2021 08:58
@ThatsNotTheTeaHunty you're entitled to your opinion just like I am. I can assure you if you told me what your kids name is I wouldn't say how much I disliked it........That wouldn't be kind ...........
I think it's okay for people to say they dislike it, that's their opinion, I don't think it's okay to say any names horrid, its still just an opinion but mean to say and harsh.

I like it! I like to put surnames to the name suggestions, (I'll add Bruce Banner, Bruce Wayne....Grin) it's a strong name, younger 'Bru and Brucie' are sweet!

But I couldn't care less if you didn't like my child's name. I chose it because I liked it. Someone's opinion doesn't bother me on my child's name. You shouldn't care either.

Am I the only one who thinks Patman and 1BRUCE1?

If you know, you know!

BertieBotts · 23/03/2021 08:08

The baby names section on MN is for brutal honesty! Don't go on if you don't want to hear what people think of your actual child's name.

Everyone on here thinks DS1's name is chavvy :o DS2's is better received but people still think it's overused.

TigerDroveAgain · 23/03/2021 08:06

DCat’s called Bruce. I can assure you there are lots of nicknames: Broo, Boo, BooBoo, Brucie, Mr B, the BB ....

Frazzledd · 23/03/2021 08:03

Did no-one think Bruce Lee? That was my first!
I like it! (The little Brucie Bonus! Genius Grin)

ThatsNotTheTeaHunty · 23/03/2021 07:58

@itsme1978 you've literally gone round replying to everyone because you're so offended because your child is called Bruce. Get over it!
OP asked for opinions so that's what people have given!
You shouldn't care what you called your child but you clearly are bothered to go round replying to anyone who said they didn't like it.
Bruce is a horrible name. That's my opinion!

Twinkie01 · 23/03/2021 07:52

I can't say it without putting on a dreadful Australian accent.

itsme1978 · 23/03/2021 07:49

@ASimpleLobsterHat

It’s a no from me.

A friend once went on a date with a boy who said he was called Neil. She discovered that evening that he was actually called Bruce but he found his name too embarrassing to use.

Don’t do it to your lovely baby boy.

My baby boy is lovely though
itsme1978 · 23/03/2021 07:48

@BertieBotts

I don't like it. It's too close to "brute" so it sounds like a violent thug to me. Also I associate it with men of a certain age. It's not quite got to "cute grandpa" stage of reusability like Albert or Arthur. It just sounds, yes, as someone else said like Keith or Nigel.
Charming

@ThatsNotTheTeaHunty

Horrid. Reminds me of the fat kid eating cake in Matilda.
Equally kind

rainbowstardrops · 23/03/2021 07:22

It's not a name I would choose. Sorry!

Cocogreen · 23/03/2021 07:06

@Cheesypea

Was their a Bruce in kath and kim?
No that was Brett!
itsme1978 · 23/03/2021 07:02

Never ask for opinions on a name on here......
This is my sons name and it's difficult to not get upset and angry over some of these horrible replies.......

babyinthacorner · 22/03/2021 23:10

Just... no.

dootsnoot · 22/03/2021 23:08

I like it a lot. It's strong and simple, which I love. It is slightly difficult to imagine a baby Bruce, but it would quickly become 'him'.

Topseyt · 22/03/2021 23:05

I like it. I've certainly heard a lot worse suggested on here.

user1493494961 · 22/03/2021 23:02

He'll be a Brucie bonus.

AlCalavicci · 22/03/2021 23:00

I like it , I know three Bruce's and two Brunos all great guys.

It is or at least was a popular Scottish name , after Robert the Bruce
