Milo?

Can I have some honest opinions on the name Milo please. I've recently heard this name and I like it but I'm not sure if it sounds ridiculous? I like less common names but not extremely unique x

Should have said he’s now an older teen.

Olderandabitwiser · 22/03/2021 10:53

I have one. Odd Tweenie related comment when he was a baby but hardly anyone seems to remember them now, least of all him. Best of all, he wasn’t keen on his name as a younger child (wanted to be a Harry/Tom/Jack like half his class) but loves it now!

RedRec · 22/03/2021 10:37

Love all your names apart from Phoenix.

KurtWilde · 22/03/2021 10:23

Reminds me of Tweenies. Or Stanley Ipkiss' dog in The Mask. I don't dislike it but I'm certain you'll get Tweenies comments if nothing else.

Cissyandflora · 22/03/2021 10:20

I love the name. It’s quite popular where I’m from but I’d still use it. Beautiful.

Bruce2 · 22/03/2021 10:10

Prefer your suggestion of Sebastian over Milo
Nothing wrong with Milo, perfectly fine name. For me it just seems a bit cutesy but then maybe it's because I've never met a man named Milo only lots of toddlers so can't imagine it on a grown up!

TatianaBis · 22/03/2021 10:06

Love Sebastian. Milo’s ok.

JosephineBaker · 22/03/2021 09:14

I know 3 cats and one dog called Milo. It definitely has a Pet Name vibe.

MrsBertBibby · 22/03/2021 09:10

I can't hear it other in the "I'm Milo" voice from the Tweenies theme.

So, hell no!

babynamelover · 22/03/2021 08:29

I know two Milo's ones our cat the others a boy at school his Brothers called Fox.

Longdistance · 21/03/2021 20:29

I know a Milo. He’s a good kid.

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 21/03/2021 20:24

William is lovely - very classic and timeless with some great namesakes. Sebastian is a decent "middle ground" name imo - less popular than William but still well known and international. Milo is more trendy I think (I know a couple of little Milo's but no older ones personally). I wouldn't use Phoenix as a first name (but it would be a fun middle?) - I think it either has a very hippy image or alternatively could be seen as a bit downmarket/celeb.

RuthW · 21/03/2021 20:16

Nice name but I can't get past the Tweenies.

OnceUponARainbow · 21/03/2021 20:12

I like Milo as a pet name tbh, we named our milky brown Siamese cat Milo. I also like Arlo in the same vein. Not so much for children. I put it in the same bucket of names I liked for pets rather than humans: Milo, Stanley, Dudley, Augustus, Scout, Arlo, but i don’t think there is anything wrong / unusual about these names for babies. If you like it, go for it!

LoveCauliflowerCheese · 21/03/2021 19:59

How about Arlo?
Less like hot chocolate.

EnjoyingTheSilence · 21/03/2021 19:58

I know two Milo’s very different in looks and character, they are both amazing young men. Love the name

Violetlavenders · 21/03/2021 19:55

Chocolate drink

@lezard0

Thank you for your replies, we are finding it hard to find the perfect name. We also like Sebastian, Phoenix and William. But we're not sure as we think William is abit too popular
Sebastian is one of my favourites 💙💙

I love it!

Fastforwardtospring · 21/03/2021 18:47

I love it and would have used it had DD been a boy, we’re done now so won’t get to use it, I would have put Miles on the BC though but used Milo. Go for it!

Recycledblonde · 21/03/2021 18:40

My dog is called Milo but I love my dog so I love the name.😀
When my dd was born I had a female dog, I became friends with some one whose dog had my dd’s name and her Dd had my dogs name. Made for some interesting walks!

Flymetothestars · 21/03/2021 18:36

Love it.
Wont raise any eyebrows these days
You could always have Miles nickname Milo

Cheesypea · 21/03/2021 18:25

It's a bit of a chocolate labrador name. However the drink tastes like oveltine which reminds me of my nan.
Miles is a lovely (grown up) name, milo for short?

DramaAlpaca · 21/03/2021 18:21

The only Milo I know is a dog. I'm not keen on it, but I don't hate it. I prefer Miles/Myles.
