Final three - which one?

We've been thinking a lot about names recently and going back and forth quite a bit. These are the three we both like and agree on. We'll see what she suits when she arrives, but interested in which one others would go for and why. We already have a little girl called Nia (Nee-ah):

Sabrina
May
Leila (Lay-la)

May it is then! It's also my favourite at the moment 😊 Thanks all x

May goes well with other dc

Laila is very over used in my opinion and sounds similar to nia. My kids have complained that their names sound to similar so they can't tell who I'm shouting.

May

May

Love May so much. Also nice of they both have three letter names just a nice subtle theme for sisters

IdblowJonSnow · 22/03/2021 00:06

May. Not keen on the others.
May is lovely. Overused as a middle name but lovely as a first and goes well with Nia without sounding twee.

Enidblyton1 · 21/03/2021 23:49

I really like May. That’s my favourite of your 3.

Nia is such a lovely name too. Your other choices both end in A, so another reason I’d go with May.

I have an irrational dislike of the name Leila pronounced lay-la. To me, Leila should be pronounced Lie-la.

Tambourina · 21/03/2021 23:45

May

CeeceeBloomingdale · 21/03/2021 22:47

Leila

I would choose May.

HeronLanyon · 21/03/2021 21:37

I feel like saying arise overused middle names. Realised that’s why I so like May. So refreshing to see it for what it is - a great name in its own right.

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 21/03/2021 21:24

May is gorgeous - so classic and elegant, yet very underused currently (as a first name). Of your 3 choices, I also think it fits best with Nia - both have a pretty, delicate, simple feel but without being as similar/soundalike (which are my only concerns about Leila and Sabrina with Nia).

ladygindiva · 21/03/2021 20:39

I love Leila!

Kitkat151 · 21/03/2021 20:36

I like May....don’t like the other 2 at all

DarcyJack · 21/03/2021 20:35

May out of those. I do also like Sabina but not Sabrina

MondeoFan · 21/03/2021 20:35

Sabrina - yuk

May - great

Leila - common

HeronLanyon · 21/03/2021 20:30

May is the best !
Leila has pronunciation differences and sounds and looks a bit fussy alongside Nia. Combined I mean.
Congrats op.

BoysRule · 21/03/2021 20:27

Leila spelt like that I would say Lee-la. If you're doing Leyla (which I really like) spell it Leyla.

GoLightlyontheEarth · 21/03/2021 20:26

May

Ijustlikedthename · 21/03/2021 20:23

Sabrina

RickOShay · 21/03/2021 19:09

May is lovely.

TenThousandSpoons · 21/03/2021 19:07
  1. Leila
  2. May
Not Sabrina
partyatthepalace · 21/03/2021 18:18

Sabrina - lovely, rarely used but not out there, and Sabrina the teenage witch is a cool ref.

May - lovely but obviously a ubiquitous middle name, so a bit dull in practice

Leila (Lay-la) -nice but just blends into the endless Lola/Lara/Lyra/Lyla/Lila/Lilys, plus it’s pronounced about 3 different ways which will get annoying. I’d avoid this one.

Noodlesnoodlesnoodles · 21/03/2021 18:14

Interesting that people find Sabrina quite dated - it's never seemed very popular and so it feels quite timeless to me.

I agree that Nia and May sound lovely together.

Leila is pretty but I do worry about it being a bit frilly...

Thanks for all of your comments so far, keep them coming 😊
