Trying to decide and we keep going round in circles. Thoughts?

I like them both, but am currently really liking Freddie.

brushlaptop · 18/03/2021 19:32

Agree with @Synchrony see what he suits when he comes out!

Synchrony · 18/03/2021 15:03

Wait and see if the baby suits one more than the other?

I personally would choose Freddie.

PlantPotting · 18/03/2021 14:47

I like both

Violet1988 · 18/03/2021 07:33

Both are nice names but I prefer Oscar out of the two x

daisypond · 18/03/2021 07:29

I don’t like Freddie at all, though Fred is OK. I prefer Oscar to that, but Oscar does seem rather dated. The Oscars I know are in their 20s. I like Frederick and Oscar as names, though.

RuthW · 18/03/2021 07:25

Frederick.

Violetlavenders · 18/03/2021 07:20

They're both very popular already!

If I had to choose, probably Frederick

Saltyslug · 18/03/2021 03:09

Casper

Wilfred

Oscar

notangelinajolie · 18/03/2021 02:57

Frederick

DramaAlpaca · 18/03/2021 02:50

Oscar by a long, long way, even though I don't particularly like it. Freddie/Frederick is horrid (sorry)

Firebird83 · 18/03/2021 00:00

Oscar. Freddie is overused at the moment.

resm · 17/03/2021 21:04

Oscar, love it.

Scubalubs87 · 17/03/2021 20:01

My Freddie is also an Alfred. I love it and it suits him perfectly.

PeopleAreAllWeveGot · 17/03/2021 19:55

Not apropos of nothing 😂 just another Fred possibility as people have mentioned Wilfred and done Frederick down ( love Frederick personally).

Am totally biased but I much prefer Freddie to Oscar!

PeopleAreAllWeveGot · 17/03/2021 19:54

We have Alfred, nickname Freddie, Fred and Ali

Talkwhilstyouwalk · 17/03/2021 19:52

Freddie!

Noodlesnoodlesnoodles · 17/03/2021 19:52

Frederick, or even Wilfred - gives you more options. Oscar is ok, but not my favourite and there are no nicknames that I can think of.

annonnymous · 17/03/2021 19:46

Oscar is popular as a dogs name. Freddie would sound silly on a 30 year old accountant, and Frederick rather stuffy.

sarah13xx · 17/03/2021 19:43

Not sure where you stay but in Scotland we have lists by council area of how common the name is. That’s swayed my decision a bit. Oscar is nice but I just know far too many of them to name my child it. Freddie is in my top 3 and I’m swaying towards it now. Christine lampard has just called her wee boy Freddie so that might make it more popular again

partyatthepalace · 17/03/2021 19:40

Both very popular... I think Oscar slightly less so I’d go for that.

Einszwei · 17/03/2021 19:24

Frederick

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 17/03/2021 19:23

Frederick. Oscar is nice enough, but quite trendy - Frederick is a much more classic name (so far less likely to date and he can always go by Fred/Ed/Red/Freddie/Erik/Rick etc if it does - Oscar has less options).

Nicecupofteaandacake · 17/03/2021 19:14

Love Oscar, don’t much like Freddie

KirstenBlest · 17/03/2021 19:12

Freddie. I'm not keen on either of them.
