Children with same letter first name

Is this an awful thing to do? For some reason all the boys names I like start with the same letter.

(It's not this name or letter) but it's like I have an Arthur and my favourites for a second boy are Alfie and Archie.

Don't want to come across all Kardashian!

I know 3 siblings with their first name all starting with the same letter, it’s a nightmare when appointments come from them without their middle initial because you don’t know which child it’s for until you call

I've never had an appt in the post that didn't have a full name on it, and I didn't know about it already. Two of mine have the same initial, no confusion has ever arisen.

It can be a bit of a pain later on when letters & bank/cc arrive in the post and you aren’t sure who they are for.

I’ve got a girl and boy and they have the same first initial. It wasn’t intentional - they were just the names we liked. It hasn’t caused us any problems so far

We have 3, 2 with the same first initial. It’s caused no problem at all. Their names aren’t similar and even the first letter sound is different so no confusion.

My sister and I both have R first names. Only time it was annoying growing up was when we got letters through the post for 'Miss R Panda' as we would always be opening each others letters. Also teachers always got our names mixed up which was annoying.

Our 2 have the same initials, first, middle and surname, we didn't think about it!

Their names are different sounding though ie not Alfie and Archie but I don't think it really matters.

Both me and DSis have the same first initial it just got quite amusing when mom couldn't get the right name out first time 😂

I think it would be a pain when they get older with post. The same as any two people in the house with the same initial.

Arthur and Archie/Alfie = no, too similar.
Arthur and Alistair or Aiden= yes, you could do this.

Having grown up with a sibling with the same initial, I'd say for their sake don't do it. Maybe its just my siblings personality, but they would deliberately open or take post that was ambiguous and it was absolutely infuriating. Often appointment letters etc would use middle initial as well which was thankfully different, but it was a point of great annoyance to me growing up and I'd rather have had a different name than go through that, trivial as it sounds.

I used to babysit siblings and cousins together, all the 4 had the same initial and it was a nightmare. Second letters were the same too for 3 of the 4 so maybe that made it worse. Don’t think so though.

Was very similar to Joe, Jake, Joshua and Jordan. Awful when you need to call for one urgently.

Arthur and Archie sound too simiar IMO as do Arfur and Alfie.

It's quite common to like names that start with the same letter. It's not awful to use names that start with the same letter but it does look a bit matchy-matchy.

I think if it's just two children you have then it's fine, but it does look like a pattern you're choosing when it gets to three.
