DH came on here a while ago asking for advice for DD. Think we've settled between these two just can't decide. Thanks for any advice ! G

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

If you decide against Harmonica, perhaps you could use Euphonium even though it's more a boy's name.

UnderHisAye · 15/03/2021 14:49

Well that's true @notacooldad it will also be very funny when she's a stroppy teenager.

jellybeanteaparty · 15/03/2021 14:48

I would worry if the child was tone deaf or very unharmonious in character. Hermione as an alternative?

notacooldad · 15/03/2021 14:45

Oh my goodness, I'm picturing you with a toddler lying face down in Tesco screaming until she's red in the face and you going 'Now Harmony, come on'
Well she won't be a tantrum toddler forever! No worse than any other child having a moment!!
I have known a few called Harmony over the years. Its a nice name.

Mamamamasaurus · 15/03/2021 14:44

I prefer Trumpet. Much classier.

I’m quite liking Kazoo.

I’ve always fancied Pianola for a girl.

Keyboard for a boy.

DavidsSchitt · 15/03/2021 14:16

I know a harmonica!

Well, not quite. She's from Yorkshire and is "ar Monica"

MissSmiley · 15/03/2021 14:12

What about Melody?

gnushoes · 15/03/2021 14:02

there is a reason why naming conventions exist and threads like this prove it. Harmonica? Poor child.

Literally only clicked on this post to see if there were any Superstore references Grin Cheyenne is absolutely my favourite! But sorry op I wouldn't use the name Harmonica Grin

PerveenMistry · 15/03/2021 13:42

@Onjnmoeiejducwoapy

They both have fairly strong—I’m sorry, I can’t find a nicer way to put this—stripper connotations if applied to a person. Also EHarmony is a dating site so it’s like calling her Tinderella, everyone will think they know how she was conceived. I really really wouldn’t.

Also are a poster up thread said Harmonica is the name of the baby in Superstore—the joke is that they’re the “white trash” teen pregnancy couple with parents in jail and that’s the name they picked. I’m sorry it’s just not a good starting point.

Tinderella!

Twinkie01 · 15/03/2021 13:41

I just think of the Harmony test. Sorry both are pretty dreadful.

PerveenMistry · 15/03/2021 13:41

@DogsAreShit

I think they're lovely names OP.

PerveenMistry · 15/03/2021 13:40

I like Harpsichord.

Melody is the better option.

PattyPan · 15/03/2021 13:39

Harmony isn’t great (especially if she has trouble playing with others and/or can’t sing!) but Harmonica is probably the worst suggestion I have ever heard, sorry OP! It’s up there with calling your child Trumpet.

Riapia · 15/03/2021 13:38

A neighbour called her dd8. Harmonia.

Viviennemary · 15/03/2021 13:37

Harmonica is beyond ridiculous. You might as well call her trombone. Harmony isn't great.

scrivette · 15/03/2021 13:37

Harmony is nice, there was a character in The Queens Nose called Harmony and her sister was Melody.

Harmonica is not a name! It's not a nice word either.

Higgeldypiggeldy35 · 15/03/2021 13:34

Definitely not Harmonica! Harmony is ok but I wouldn't call my child that. Names that sound similar; Hermione, Melody, Monica, Harriet,

Ihopeyourcakeisshit · 15/03/2021 13:34

Tinderella Grin

user1493494961 · 15/03/2021 13:32

Neither, have another think.
