What are people’s thoughts/opinions on this name please? 🤔 Any suggestions on this or similar names would be fantastic or names that would go with it (middle names etc)
Thankyou any help is appreciated.

I just adore Constance.

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 12/03/2021 23:49

I like Constance which is very elegant, but I couldn't use it personally as I dislike the sound of Con/Connie which are the likely nn's, sorry. Similar feeling names I'd likely choose would be Florence, Alice, Grace, Verity, Honor or even maybe Millicent (if I was feeling brave!).

Because I'd want to try for the cute nn Cece rather than Con/Connie, I might choose Celia or Cecilia/Cecily as a middle for Constance (or another C name like Claudia, Claire, Camilla, Caroline etc).

Quornflakegirl · 12/03/2021 21:09

I love it and always have. It was on our list.

easterbuns1 · 12/03/2021 21:03

I love it, it was on my list but vetoed by my other half.

MrsMop1964 · 12/03/2021 20:51

I really like it. I also like Connie because I loved Connie Beauchamp in Holby City!
(Wasn't Lady Chatterley's name Constance?)

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 12/03/2021 20:45

I don't like it, but Its not me making the choice.

Constance Olivia
Constance Alexandra
Constance Emilia
Constance Rose
Constance Alexandra
Constance Abigail

I don’t love it. It makes me think of the digestive system?! Hmm Maybe I’m just strange. Florence is a similar sounding name and much softer

CatBiscuits · 12/03/2021 20:35

Gorgeous name

ezydays · 12/03/2021 20:35

I actually really like it

mrwalkensir · 12/03/2021 20:35

Mozart's wife. Can't get more genuinely rock 'n' roll than that. Love it

EwwSprouts · 12/03/2021 20:34

Lovely name.

Vursayles · 12/03/2021 20:32

Pearl 😍 That is also lovely and so under used

GintyMcGinty · 12/03/2021 20:23

I like it. Classical.

AnnaSW1 · 12/03/2021 20:22

I think it's lovely but the two I know are always known as Connie which I really don't Iike as a name

IrishMamaMia · 12/03/2021 20:21

Cross Post @junebirthdaygirl Totally agree, Constance Pearl is incredible!

RuthW · 12/03/2021 20:20

Lovely

IrishMamaMia · 12/03/2021 20:20

I think it's very cool. I adore Honor and Honora which are in a similar vein :)

junebirthdaygirl · 12/03/2021 20:20

One of my favourites. Also love Honor and for some reason put them in the same category.
For a middle name like something short
Constance Eve
Constance Jean
Constance Pearl

RumpoleoftheBaileys · 12/03/2021 20:15

Love

LadyWithLapdog · 12/03/2021 20:15

I really like it. And this reminded me to listen to this song which I love m.youtube.com/watch?v=Yi8paEMdVgU (Connie Case - Get Down)

SoCrimeaRiver · 12/03/2021 20:08

I love it. Had I looked at it in a baby name book, I'd have pulled a face and though it too Victorian, but I met a little Constance at a school parents meeting, she'll be about 3 now. It really suited her and I thought how much I liked it. Cecily has a similar give and maybe Pearl or Violet but Constance has an elegance to it.

One thing though, do you like Connie as a nickname? I don't but I suspect it'd get shortened by friends to Con or Connie once she's at school.

Juanbablo · 12/03/2021 20:03

I love it!

lottiegarbanzo · 12/03/2021 20:02

I realise that my mental association is with custard and consomme.

lottiegarbanzo · 12/03/2021 19:58

It's ok but a bit stuffy.

I prefer Clemency, Cornelia or Cordelia.

GreenBalaclava · 12/03/2021 19:57

I like it. Prefer Con to Connie.
