Continuing the theme from my last thread but this time for the meaning of “love”. Trying to find a name that has the meaning that we like - it’s the most important to us , thanks!! :)

@cornishmumofone and @MrsCalypsoGrant

I don't line it with z, much prefer the softer Kerensa.

Acushla means darling/pulse

ShipOfTheseus · 18/03/2021 21:05

Cara is nice - it means dear/darling.
Mary means bitter, and not love.
Zoe means life- it’s the Greek form of Eve. Nothing to do with love.

Cariad (love, noun) is used regularly as a term of endearment in Welsh - don't name your baby that.

I have a friend called Cari (pronounced 'Carrie' but with a heavier 'r') and a play on 'Caru' (same pronunciation) meaning to love.

Dwynwen is our patron saint of love in Wales 🥰

@mathanxiety

Alannah indirectly means love. It's a term of endearment.
Always thought it was "A leanbh" as in child.

Adora - a gift, beloved, adored.

bookworm14 · 18/03/2021 13:49

I know a Carita.

Peach1886 · 18/03/2021 13:47

Mabel, or its Welsh equivalent Mabli - DS might have been Mabli if he'd been a DD!

Lalliella · 18/03/2021 12:21

Milena and Mila

Lalliella · 18/03/2021 12:19

Cerys means love. Sorry for all the posts, I love this thread OP, it’s a gorgeous idea!

Lalliella · 18/03/2021 12:16

Aimee. French for loved.

Lalliella · 18/03/2021 12:11

I know of a Swedish girl named Lovelia. Not sure if it’s a Swedish name or the parents made it up. (This is in Australia)

How about Amari? Sounds a bit like Amore? Or Carhian (Welsh) - Cariad means darling/love in Welsh.

YumLemonCheesecake · 18/03/2021 09:57

Zoe - Goddess of Love

Edenember · 15/03/2021 17:11

Amabel means beloved I think, same as Amy and other Am- beginning names. I’ve always thought Amabel was really sweet, but it would be constantly misheard as Annabel.

Theseasonsarechanging · 15/03/2021 09:35

Thanks for these suggestions, some great ones here.
I particularly like Amy, Esme and Alannah.
