Hi

Thoughts on a girl called Ophira Sapphire. Ophira is pronounced o-feer-a.

I have a Freya already

Ophir is a brand of gin.
Bombay Sapphire is a brand of gin.

Everyone will secretly think you have a gin problem.

It is good gin though op, once baby is here of course.

Freya is lovely,,

ManxRhyme · 11/03/2021 21:43

Please not candida. No one deserves to be named after thrush.

Whatalottachocca · 11/03/2021 21:33

Ophir gin & Bombay Sapphire gin popped into my head too. I don’t think it’s a good idea. 😳

8dpwoah · 11/03/2021 21:32

What about Amira? It's a real name so that's a start 😂 similar vibe but different enough to Freya (which I think is lovely for what it's worth).

If you really love Ophira it could work as a middle name.

sweetnessnfight · 11/03/2021 21:26

@HardcoreParkour

Ophira is nice but Sapphire sounds a bit 'American stripper' to me.
I agree with this
sammylilac · 11/03/2021 21:15

Really not keen sorry!

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 11/03/2021 21:01

Ophira is very unusual and a touch soundalike with popular Freya (and will likely be confused with more well known Ophelia too). Sapphire is a fun middle name though.

How about Lara, Cora, Iris, Thalia or Gaia? - all have mythological links like Freya.

Elambert83 · 11/03/2021 20:25

Ok so thats a resounding No then 🤣. Back to the drawing board. I needed to hear it, sometimes it is blinding how many names are out there and trying to make them work.

I have some normalish names but also somr unusual ones on my list so feel quite clueless right now 😭

My first thought was Gin (Ophir- it's lush)

My second thought was there's too many Fs in the name and also with Freya.

user1493494961 · 11/03/2021 19:45

Freya is lovely, Ophira is too similar and Sapphire is awful.

3CCC · 11/03/2021 19:28

@SherlocksDeerstalker

Definitely a gin!
Another one who thinks this I'm afraid
YellowandGreenToBeSeen · 11/03/2021 19:22

Ophira is beautiful. But ‘I Fear Her’ would be the colloquial pronunciation. I wouldn’t put it with Freya either.

Ideas:

Melissa
Candida
Ophelia (but it’s a name of tragedy)
Magenta
Iris (lovely with Freya)
Melaina (not Melania!)

PatsyStone39 · 11/03/2021 19:21

Like Ophira a lot but not with Sapphire - it makes it sound like a brand of car.

What about Safira? A mix of both

niceupthedance · 11/03/2021 19:21

Sounds like a make of car!

GingerAndTheBiscuits · 11/03/2021 19:20

@RJnomore1

Sounds like gin
came to say this too!
HardcoreParkour · 11/03/2021 19:19

Ophira is nice but Sapphire sounds a bit 'American stripper' to me.

Greenmarmalade · 11/03/2021 19:18

A bit too princessy for my tastes, but nice nonetheless.

I’d probably choose one of those.

Ophira May
Ophira Jane
Ophira Rose
Ophira Clare

ZenNudist · 11/03/2021 19:17

Awful, sorry. Definitely dont use them together. Poor kid, imagine having to spell your name to everyone.

AliasGrape · 11/03/2021 19:17

My first thought was gin too, sorry!

SherlocksDeerstalker · 11/03/2021 19:16

Definitely a gin!

Bimblybomeyelash · 11/03/2021 19:16

Too much everything

FawnDrench · 11/03/2021 19:15

Too effie IMO.
Sounds like someone trying to say "Ophelia" with a mouth full of gob-stoppers.

StopGo · 11/03/2021 19:15

Sounds like the child would be named after two brands of gin.
